I don’t often post on the threads, but I do read them every so many days, but I decided to share some pictures of my collection of custom figures and vehicles. I’ve already posted my Mongor and Thunderstrike in the thread for customs. As of now, I have over 75 custom figures. My goal is to have one of every character that appeared in the show and played a significant role in at least one episode. Currently, I have about 20 projects remaining… after that I may make some other forms of characters (Tygra invisible, old Tygra from cave of time, Mummrana as mummy, etc). Overall, my collection is comprised of figures that I have made, friends have made for me, or ebay purchases. I wish I had more time to make figures to sell, but my job does not allow for a whole lot of free time to do so. Please send comments and opinions.
As for your question, most of the figures (except the women, monsters, and short ones) are primarily made from WWE Jakks/Mattel figures. All of the short ones except for Luna and Snarfer were created from characters from an Argentine cartoon for girls. The bases for the vehicles vary; for instance, the Lunataker was made from a Power Rangers toy.
As for the rest, I do have more stuff finished like a Feliner and Vultureman Flying Machine and high quality shots of select figures (Mandora / Lunataks), but I could not post those pictures because I got a message stating I had reached a size limit for uploading pictures. Maybe you could look into that because the pictures posted do not do justice for some of my figures.
Anyway, thanks for the compliments. I have definitely put a lot of time and effort into my collection, and it is a pleasure to share pictures on the forum with other fans.
Thanks for your comments… Bonyo (Pablo) is one of my friends and has been a big help to me. Some of my customs are from him, a few are from others on ebay (Mad Bubbler), and some are my own. For instance, the Lunataks, Mandora, Inflamor, Mummrana, and the vehicles were my first projects, which I finished about eight years ago. After I completed these customs, I found myself with limited time as I began and finished my PhD and started teaching at the university level. So I started to collect some customs done by others to complete my collection, and specifically, Pablo advised me on certain materials and techniques on how to create figures in less time but still look great. Now, I have had some free time since I am just about finished with my manuscript for the book I will be publishing soon so I’ve been getting back in the game, so to speak. Thus, my collection is comprised of figures made by several different people. If I had more free time, I would definitely make more of my own.
Unfortunatelly, there is a size limit and this is why you can only put them up as attached files. I am sorry for the inconvenience. There are so many pictures of collections from many fans which honestly wouldn’t fit in the regular size. Hope you understand my friend
