I was reading in your animation art guide about the color samples that were sent to Japan, and them making notes and photocopying. Here is an example of this if you want to add it to your page. I have left it unlogo’d for you, and made the picture using models from my own collection.
Since you guys like this stuff, here is another pic for you. I have around 200 of these sheets, but not sure what you have and haven’t seen, and no idea what other people have. The model sheets are actually quite large.
The Awakening of the Cat’s Eye and mutant size chart.
I also have a bunch of these, and a cd with some more on it. I also have a couple production drawings copies of the originals from Japan. One is of Bengali and it has him labeled as Tygra’s albino brother. Let me know if you need any of them.
Here are a few of my favs. The first one is of Ben-gali. This is a preproduction drawing (alas it is only a copy) the original is in Japan. The second is the weapon/claw shield schematics for Lion-o. I have lots more if anyone wants to see.
This obviously isn’t the area of the site I’m in charge of - but, for my money there’s some amazing material here, stuff we desperately need to host on this site!!
In the meanwhile, I’d love to see some more, guys - over the years I’ve seen stacks of this sort of material for Filmation’s He-Man and She-Ra cartoons, but hardly anything for ThunderCats until recently. This is seriously fascinating for me!
Yeah I got all mine off Ebay. It was a packet of pages (about 50-75) of the production drawings and a cd with more on it, and the ben-gali pic i got from a different seller, but I only got it cause it is the only thing i have ever seen to confirm that he is Tygras brother rather than the speculation about Tygra calling him brother metaphorically in the cartoon once.
Here is a sheet of Lion-o and Panthro mouth movement and position, and a Pumm-Ra model. I have other mouth movement sheets as well, mumm-ra, willykit, cheetara (a .gif of the cheetara would almost be x-rated)
