Sorry if there is if this has been discussed in the past, but I have recently been looking into expanding my search for figures to foreign countries. I looked at some on mercadolivre as it appears to be the south american equivalent of ebay, however it seems as though it is different enough that I cant use my existing ebay account and doesnt appear to accept paypal. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using that site or if anyone can recommend any alternatives?

I have some experience with it. It costed me lot of time and translation to create an account. You can’t use paypal, you have to register to mercadopago. I had the luck to have friendly seller, who took the effort to communicate in english and had no problem to sent me an invoice through paypal. There are some south american fellow collectors on these boards. Maybe they are willing to help you with something you have your eye on. Cheers

Thanks for the response! From the sounds of things you never actually had to make a mercadopago account for your purchase than? I am a little hesitant to setup an account with another payment service that I am not familiar with, although from what I have read it appears to be reputable. It would be nice if some sellers are as open to paypal as your experience.
Without divulging any additional sources you may have, in your opinion would you say there are better places to look for glasslite/playful figures or is this the best bet?

i have tried to create an account but kept on struggling with the spanish, so in the end i gave up! It sure is reliable. You can find some great stuff on Mercadolibre, but mostly loose figs, hardly mocs. The sellers i asked don’t really like ship to europe, but maybe they do to the states.
Sometimes if you really dig deep you might find some great stuff in local online toy shops.
