Michael, you’re right about the twenty-two-minute constraint and the show’s fantastic writing. I love that we’re getting flashbacks in this series as to how things happened.
Speaking of which, I’m also willing to bet that not only will we be seeing Lynx-O, but we’ll also be getting a bit of Pumyra’s backstory as well. It’ll be great, no matter how this pans out.
I’ll be frank, i’m a little worried about how these episodes will pan out. The last four episodes were okay (though “The Pit” could have been better IMO) but the summaries for these next four have me worried.
For Example:
Episode 20 - Based on what we got from Pumyra, i’m dreading the kind of welcome Lion-O will get from the other Thunderian slaves. Also, this plot line kinda distracts from the original Story arc: find the stones, unite the animals and beat Mumm-Ra. Now the Story Arc is about finding and helping refugees? Kind of an abrupt switch, don’t ya think.
Refugees are animals too! I think Pumyra acted like that because that’s just how she is; a generally violent and in-your-face person. Especially if the refugees see that someone on Lion-O’s side that has experienced the same pain they have (Pumyra), I think they won’t have as many problems in deciding to join Lion-O.
No, I think you’re way off on this one.
First of all I think a lot of people criticised the pit because of the sub plot with the kittens and not enough time with Pumyra, but I think the pit was the start of a few episode arc that will pan out over the next few episodes. I mean there is an entire episode that concludes the pits sub plot with the kittens that I think will carry on the other threads too.
Now, as I said in another thread, I don’t doubt there will be Thunderian citizens who will feel as Pumyra does, but there will also be others that did not believe that their rulers abandoned them, there may be others still who thought the whole royal family had died and were trying to remain defiant without any leadership. Thundera was a vast society, with a whole range of people and feelings. It will be interesting to see how they all come together in the pit. Perhaps they have a leaser of sorts keeping up their hope, telling them that the Thundercats will come. Koff Lynxo koff.
Now as for the arc, the Thundercats mission was to find the stones and defeat Mumm Ra, part of LionOs plan to do that was to unite the animal races against Mumm Ra. BUT it is in no way an abrupt switch to think that they would want to find survivors and rebuild Thundera. Once he finds a definite lead on Thunderian prisoners, of course he’s going to act. That doesn’t mean that uniting the other races alongside the Thunderians against Mumm Ra has suddenly been called off.
I would say cartoon like these go off the story a little to add stuff. They have to get the stones and why not save slaves. It perfect to have more then one thing to do.
Lion-O has to unite ALL the animals. That includes the remaining Cats.
Every episode with flashbacks and origin stories were superb.One of the big pros of the 2011 Thundercats. Definitely agree

“Curse of Ratilla” oughta be a huge episode. I sensed that a lot of Thundera’s civilians were still alive after it fell.

In the chance that Bengali is in this next episode and is a slave I would be curious to know Tygra’s reaction. We’ve gotten a glimpse of his reaction to a single cat slave, but throw in many more and the possibility of one of his kind being one, it should make for some interesting watching.
It would definitely be interesting. Even though he’s not the same actual race as Tygra, it’ll be weird for him to see another tiger.

Yes, he did. there’s a HUGE argument on whether they actually are biological brothers or not, but I’m pretty sure they weren’t in the OS, and I highly doubt they will be in the NS.
