What a great news week for ThunderCats! Probably the best week since the announcement of the DVDs!
Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come!
As much money as it looks like Mattel is going to “make” me spend on their Masters Of The Universe Classics line, I still would love to see the Cats get a new line. I just hope to hell that if someone gets the license, it’s Mattel. Just thinking of someone other than Mattel getting it(not that they’re perfect but they are the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to the “Big 2” toy companies) sends chills down my spine.
Whats the other one ? Hasbro ? lol

This is indeed promising news. And with the upcoming Hard Hero’s line of sautes… here is hoping all of the Thundercats licensing issues have been resolved and the license to produce action figures is granted to Mattel.
I hope this becomes a reality, I long for new Thundercats figures. I have a question though, can someone tell me why it’s such a fight to get the license?
I was hoping to read an announcement come out of SDCC that a company has the license and we would be getting new figures

Mattel should get it because of their team-up with the 4H who make totally awesome sculpts
And it’s a huge plus to have the Cats in scale with the MOTUC figures.
Mattel does a fine job with its DC line, so much so that it rivals anything DC Direct produces. If that’s any indication, a Thundercats line from them could indeed kick some serious ass. What are your hopes/expectations should this happen? Me, I’d like to see them make figures of WilyKat & Kit as adults as well as Bengali, Pumyra, and Lynx-O.

I’d like to see an adult Kit & Kat as long as they also have statues of them as kids too.
Works for me. I also hope they’re detailed, but not overly so.
I really, really would love it if Mattel could make TC figures. I would hope to see them done in a similar fashion to the new He-Man Figures. Original designs, updated to today’s action figure standards with maybe a little added detail here and there, but not too much. And a major bonus if they are in scale to the MOTUC figures.
I would LOVE for Mattel to get the rights. They’re doing a GREAT job on the new MOTU classics line, and I would think that, with the movie on hold:mad: that they would be releases through Matty Collector too. I love the subscription option that they have and would hope that by the time they get Thundercats rights, they’ll be able to offer that right from the start.
So does Mattel still want the rights, even though the movie’s on hold?
I’m sure they do. Even if the movie doesn’t happen, they still have TONS of Thundercats fans who would gladly snatch up new toys in a heartbeat.
-If/when the movie comes out, I’m sure they’ll do a separate line just for the movie.
