Main Characters?..

Ok guys, hope all is well. I just want a quick bit of feed back on the Encyclopedia Project.

I think that we should place emphasis on getting the main characters profiles done first. By this I mean have characters from every sub-section in the Good Character and the Bad Character sections (eg The main Thundercat, Thunderian, Snarf, Third Earther and Other character profiles in the Good Characters Section) Then the encyclopedia can gradually grow around this frame work.

Initially I intend the encyclopedia section to be a character encyclopedia. Then we can add additional sections for vehicles and locations at a later date.

I would rather we channeled our effort into getting a semi-filled character section rather than upload an entire encyclopedia with only one or two charcters and vehicles etc.. in it.

Ok this is the [COLOR=“Red”]IMPOTRTANT bit… I would like your input as to what characters you would consider to be most important. I am aiming for a minumum of 3 characters per catergory. Here is what I have so far;

This is what I consider to be the main characters per catergory. If you feel I have added characters which are not that important or you have some in mind that are not listed, please post these so we can build a list that we all agree on.

I will add your suggestions as I get them and highlight them [COLOR=“Lime”]green

This list will then become the working list for the first version of the encyclopedia section.

The list looks good so far Kyle. The only one that I can remember not being on the list is Mumm-Rana…but that’s just off the top of my head. I’ll see if I can remember more and I’ll post them here.

Chris here…

Off the top of my head, the only characters I’d add are Snarf Oswald (was that his name?), the other half of the Snarf “comic relief” duo who debut in “Thundercubs” and also Torr, who IIRC appears in several of the “New Thundera”-centred episodes. :slight_smile:

Oh yes, and what about Dr. Dometone? To my memory he only appeared in two episodes (and the second of those was Mumm-Ra in disguise), but like the Demolisher he did have an episode named after him in which he featured prominantly. :slight_smile:

Also, I’d add that where you have Ratilla listed as an evil Thunderian, technically he’s a Mutant - I always took it that he was a descendant of Ratar-O. Also, being ultra-nitpicky, I wouldn’t have counted Safari Joe as a Third Earth-based evil character, as he’s an intergalactic big game hunter who lands on Third Earth seeking decent prey, he’s not actually shown to be a Third Earth native. :slight_smile:

Other than those, that is a great list, far more characters than I would have thought of! Nice one! :slight_smile:

Ok thanks, all valid points.

I added Ratilla to the Thunderials section because he is only ever seen on Thundera (and I think this will be quite a small section) But I have no problem adding him to the Mutants section.

There really are too many Snarfs lol…but yes I will add Oswald

I will add Safari Joe to the Others Section

I will also add Dr Dometone (who is quality, by the way can’t believe I forgot him)

Help…

Ok I need a little bit of help quickly…

I need to know the Following

[INDENT]1. The main Berbils names (I think there are 4) and the colours they are

eg: Belle - Orange and creme

  1. Is Lion-O’s farther called Claudus or Claudius

Not sure about the Berbils, but Lion-O’s father is named ‘Claudius’.

Actually, I was under the impression it was “Claud-Us” - there’s no “i” in the way his name is pronounced on the show (unless I’ve been mishearing it all these years! :)), although there’s a debate about the spelling it’s pronounced “Claud-Us” or at least “Claudus”. :slight_smile:

You might be thinking of the two Berbils who save Lynx-O, Ben-Gali and Pumyra in “ThunderCats Ho! The Movie” - I’ve a feeling their names were Berbil Bob and Berbil Bert, but if I were you I’d double check that! The only other Berbil characters I remember from the show being named were Ro-Ber Bill (who was their chief) and Ro-Ber Belle (who featured heavily in the episode “The Doomgaze”). :slight_smile:

Thanks for that Chris… I think I will just do Ro-ber Belle, Bill and Bert which I thank Manny for posting. As for Lion-O’s father.. I have used Caudus as his name.

Question: Would be a good idea to add those minor Mutants? Like the ones that showed in Exodus? The other monkians and reptilians?

yes those characters will be added at a later date.. I just feel that the mutant section of the evil characters is filled sufficiantly at the moment.. As I posted I want a nice distribution of characters for our first updates. That means filling each catergory. That is my focus right now.

But yes they are on my next to-do list ..:smiley:

Cool. I don’t consider them main characters so I was hesitant to post it here, but seeing as we are trying to make a ‘bible’ I thought it wouldn’t be complete without them.

Ok I have done Snarf, and am about to do snarfer..

I am not too sure about the other two..Eggbert and Oswald

Slight change of plan

Ok team, I have been having a few difficulties drawing some of the evil characters due to my really poor quality reference material. I think I will struggle to produce illustrations with the quality I would like to put on the internet. Manny has kindly offered to copy me the official dvd’s to aid my illustrations.

Therefore (given the fact it will take time for me to recieve these dvd’s..) I am going to produce a mini encyclopedia of the absolute essential characters to go online in the next week or so…and then when i recieve the dvd’s I will begin working on the rest of the encyclopedia..

Which episodes do you need? I have my fan made DVD/VCD episodes, but I’m not sure what kind of quality your needing? Obviously they are not in the same quality of the WB DVD releases but if they are any use and save Manny time and postage costs I could send them to you.

So if you list the eps you need or the characters you need to draw I can check to see if I have the eps featuring those characters on disc.

Thanks for that offer Neil, I have a similar Dvd set and Some are better than others… I think for the long term good of the encyclopedia illustrations, I would be best using the high quality ones.. If I have any problems with the Dvd’s from manny.. I will let you know to see if your dvds are better than mine…

Changed my mind..

Ok I have just done the Lunatac Illustrations and I have changed my mind lol… :dizzy:

I only have a few characters left to do now and I think I will be able to mangage with the captures I have. When I get the official DVD’s from Manny I will be able to update any images that need to be improved. Looking through though, this should only be a few of the illustrations.

Sorry for confusing you all, I just wasn’t looking forward to doing the Lunatac illustrations :mind: . Now they are done the task looks much simpler.:smiley:

Just to clarify I have decided to do the list we agreed on originally (see Encyclopedia Status Thread) and to get it online sometime before July 20th…(when I go away)

So you know what that means Chris… Side Text! lol:yikes:

Also just a subtle nudge towards the Profile writers to get as many done and sent for proof reading before the Encyclopedia goes online (July 20th) :slight_smile:

Sorry for being a bit quiet, everybody, I’ve been trying to plod through some of the jobs I have to do that have mounted up through my inactivity caused by my “recent difficulties” - my #1 priority is completing the side text for the Evil Characters section, and then I plan to get some more done to the Comic Section! I definitely haven’t forgotten you guys! :slight_smile:

Ok guys…just about to make some graphics…and I want to know how you spell Lunataks/Lunatacs.

Does anyone have anything official with it written on?? Answers ASAP please..:slight_smile:
