I like Ma-Mutt and Mumm-Ra needs someone he can trust completely to guard his sarcophagus as he rests. He doesn’t need to be refered to by name but I would like that he at least eventually shows up as a big demonic guard dog for Mumm-Ra.

Ravage might have copyright issues seeing how that’s also a Transformer’s name (and as a result I’ll always think of Ravage as a cat’s name lol).

I was never crazy about Ma-Mutt, so I would prefer it if he didn’t show up.

I’m mixed about it. They can’t add Ma-Mut in as he was in the original series as it pretty much made Mumm-Ra a joke. If they add him in, it would have to be a complete redesign and we just wouldn’t recognize him asides from his name. He would have to be basically an equivalent of an evil demonic guard hound and not a pet to basically turn Mumm-Ra into a joke.

Nope. And neither did “Goody-goody goo drops.” It’s okay, I know you’re just kidding. Personally, though, whenever I heard him say that stuff, I would think, "Really? REALLY???" :facepalm o_O

I know it was supposed to be a kids’ show, but come on. This was a character who was intended to look horrifying. He looked like he practically jumped off of an Iron Maiden album cover. This is a being who is thousands of years old, can assume any shape, has the power of darkness at his command, and could also probably summon demons on a whim and just as soon kill you by looking at you. Having him utter such lines really did make him look ridiculous. This was the problem I had ultimately with every Thundercats villain; that in order to make them “safe,” they were ultimately relegated to buffoon status.

This is why Ocelli and I decided to kill them all off in our story, as we felt they had been essentially FUBAR’ed, and it was just easier to start off fresh with a new villain who could be a genuine threat, rather than just use Mumm-Ra, which would have felt to us like, “Oh. That guy, again?” o_O

I also felt that how Mumm-Ra became the Servant of Evil was never touched in the OS. Having the ASOE choose a new one gave us a nice plot twist to have fun with.

That being said, I voted “maybe” because it depends on how they bring Ma-Mutt back and how it works in the overall story.
