Hi guys. I’m looking for some advice, I hope somebody out there can help me.
It would be interesting to gain some knowledge on how much you think a boxed, and UNOPENED Luna Laser is actually worth. I am a novice in terms of understanding what Thundercats figures are rarer than others etc.
Anyway I have found this item for £25, which equates to just below $40 (US).
I am unsure about whether to keep the item for myself (as I was an avid Thundercats fan as a kid) or to use it as an investment if it worth much more than the £25 I paid for it.

Hey crazyman, it’s worth roughly what you paid for it. I’d highly doubt you’d be able to sell it for too much of a premium. My advice would be keep it for yourself.
I may be a bit late but the Luna Lasher unopened box not beat up, price tag ripped and complete with all the insert material and instructions are hard to find. You got a really good deal on your toy what you paid for it so you’re not out any cash. I bought one recently for about the same price and I love it! My final bid was $50.00 in case of sniping and I got it for $36.00 minus shipping insurance and all. I wouldn’t have paid more than $50.00 for it unless it was a “case fresh” nothing wrong with it smelled like new car example.
As far as the condition of your toy goes and the value…You also have to take into account the condition of the toy and container grading wise that it comes in so really your toy might be worth a bit more than you paid come to think of it…

I am not sure…but I think you got hold of an American boxed LJN piece destined for the overseas market. Is the label in the lower right hand corner in Dutch?
And with the keeping it issue or re-selling…
I have to admit I am biased but I would follow other’s advice and hang onto it for awhile. If you really want to sell it later on maybe you could wait until closer to the Thundercats movie release. Perhaps the movie will spur interest in the old toys and the value will skyrocket.
Anyway that box is Gorgeous, George!!! I bet it makes a beatiful display piece for you for sure! Congratulations on your find!
Due to the shape of the box, they were really able to go all out with the box art. Some of the nicest box art imo is the boxed Luna Lasher, Thunderwings, and Stilt Runner.
I can’t remember exactly what I paid for my LL, but I think it was about $25.00.
When it comes to eBay (where I assume you would put it up for sale) it has a lot to do with timing. ie You put up for auction something a collector is badly wanting at that time, thus a profit.
Right now however, with the way the economy is, if it was me, I would hold on to it. Wait until things get better and people are actually spending top dollar on their hobbies.
What you paid is about it’s actual value. £20-£30 is about the value of this piece on average of what I’ve seen over the last 8 years of Thundercats collecting.
But like as been said, with the way things are in the economy right now, it isn’t worth selling a collection. I checked out Ebay the other day for MIB/MOC Thundercats and there wasn’t really anything decent for sale (well except the ridiculously priced buy it now stuff)
I guess folks are not bothering to list stuff that’s rare, for the fear of getting peanuts for it
