I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed reading the boards of late, and how much I have learned about the figures since joining up! Of course, for everything I have learned, I have 50 more questions! Here’s a few that maybe you all can help me with:
Cheetara- I have Cheetaras with purple eyeshadow and Cheetaras with blue eyeshadow. Is one foreign and the other American? Is one from Series one and one from 2? Also, what series did the yellow skin variant come in?Anyone with MOC examples that can help me out?
Lion-O- I know what both versions of Series 1 look like. One has Orange hair and his head is molded in orange with the face painted on. One has red hair and the head is molded in red with the face painted on. Series 2 Lion-O that comes with Snarf can be orange or red right? I know I have a red one from childhood (head is molded in red with orange face painted on, body is much brighter orange than series 1). My question is, what is different about Series 3 Lion-O? I have a few Lion-O figures that the heads are molded in his skin color plastic and the hair is painted on instead of vice versa (Basically meaning in series one and two his face paint can chip, but in this other version I have, it is the hair that can have paint wear) Is this a Series 3 Lion-O?
Mumm-ra- Mumm-ra with dark red (burgundy) helmet and sword hilt and detailing…Was he is Series 1 and 2? Did he ever come packaged with Ravage? Also, what distinguishes a Series 3 Mummra?
I have a TON more questions, but I’ll take a breath and post those later. Anyone know the answers to any of this?
Im not sure about the answers to those questions but from my experience some of the differences in paint were because of the paint just not being the same exact color on all figures. My guess is that when they ran out of paint the new batches were not always matched up to the old.
Lion-o: Yes, Lion-o with pvc Snarf can be Orange or Red. It used to be that people only thought he came in Red with pvc Snarf, but then the Orange versions started popping up.
I also believe that the paint variations (Orange/Red) continued on into the Series 3 Lion-o. Don’t forget there is also a “Maroon” (Dark Red) Lion-o out there as well. This one is pretty hard to find though. Check out the pic of the Maroon color (Far right).
The dark red Mumm-Ra as far as i know came only with the battery offer. I hacve not seen one packaged in any other series 1 packaging other than the one with the battery. The maroon Lion-O is rather hard to find
