I started a thread for speculation on Lion-O’s mother, since it seems like a popular topic.
I think she’s probably dead and we’ll only see flashbacks at this point. I think two possible shocking twists could be 1.) Lion-O’s mom will be the 2011 version of Pumyra, which I really don’t want since that would mean Pumyra is already dead, and 2.) Lion-O’s mom is the same as Kit and Kat’s mom, somehow. Just a thought.
More then likely she is dead and they will never show and/or mention her on the show. I hope this isn’t the case but I have a feeling that it will unless the show last more then enough episodes and/or they actually start listening to fans.

I am still thinking she wont be brought back. I mean, even in the Snarfs Butterfly Blues…they continued to only show glimpses of Claudus and Jaga (feet)…NOT a mother anywhere to be in sight! Youd think, with a baby, a mother would always be near.
So I just think she will never make an appearance. Just my thoughts. Not even spoilers make any close mention of a mother coming into picture. 
Im not even sure it would be a good idea, as an episode, to focus on bringing mothers in flashbacks? I dunno…:eek:
I think it very likely that she died giving birth to Lion-O. I also think that, seeing as how Lion-O isn’t part Puma…it’s kind of silly to think that Pumyra could be his Mother.:eek:
I hope and thinks she will never be introduced. There is no big reason atm why she SHOULD be. Up until now i’ve never wonderd where she is but rather WHO. Still not like i’ve seen people wonder that much (on forums etc). What could she possibly bring that would be good for Lion-O and the whole show?

Maybe killed by Slithe. Would enrich the hinted at history between he and Claudius.
An interesting idea Boohah! but Slithe hated Claudius more so that wouldn’t make a lot of sense.
Actually, it would make a lot of sense. What better way to hurt someone than to take the life of their most beloved? She may have been caught in a crossfire during a battle with the lizards, or maybe Slithe took her hostage nd killed her. It’s a definite possibility.
What would be very peculiar is if all of us were right at the same time! :o
I agree about what everyone’s saying about Lion-O’s mother. She must have died either giving birth to Lion-O or while he was still a baby kitten and too young to remember her. And with the long hatred between the lizards and the Thundercats, it’s a possibility that the lizards are somehow responsible for whatever happened to Lion-O’s mother. If Tygra was adopted prior to Lion-O’s birth, it’s possible he knew her and who knows? Maybe she played a part in Tygra’s adoption. It’s possible that Claudus and his wife had problems conceiving at first and that’s why they adopted Tygra. And I doubt that Pumyra would be revealed to be Lion-O’s mother. If Lion-O was half-lion and half-some other species of cat, he would show some traits from his mother’s side, but he looks 100% lion to me. Besides, if Pumyra’s reintroduced in the new series, she would resemble the cougars shown forging the Sword of Omens and gauntlet in “Legacy,” and Lion-O doesn’t show any physical traits of a cougar.
With all the talk about the importance of the bloodline, Lion-O’s mother would have to be a lioness.
That’s probably true. It’s interesting though that Leo probably started the royal bloodline with Panthera, who not only is a panther but also a tailed at that. After that they probably did stick to marrying other lions, but by Thundera’s own standards Lion-O and his ancestors probably aren’t 100% lion, save for Leo himself. It’s probably like 99.999% though.

It’s interesting to point out that Leo probably started the whole royal bloodline with Panthera, who is both a panther and has a tail. So even Lion-O isn’t 100% lion, though he is probably 99.999%
I wonder how the whole caste system ended up happening in Thunderean society, if their first queen was Panthera, which is what I’m assuming until proven otherwise. Anyway, you’re probably right about Lion-O’s mother also being a lion, though it would be interesting if she wasn’t. Maybe lion traits are dominant over others. As far as I can tell, the only thing that distinguishes lions are their coloring. Wilykit looks like she might even be part lion, which is why I thought she and Lion-O could have been related.
Leo and Panthera may have never gotten married…we dont know the truth behind that. I think that they would have kept it in the bloodline. Lions are the kings of the animal kingdom on earth (today)…so they prob want to keep the lineage pure. I am sure Lion-Os mother was a lion as well, and probably not very high in any chain of command,…and like many kings, Claudus may have had his share of mistresses. But as far as keeping the bloodline pure, lions with lions…tigers with tigers, etc. Tygra and Cheetara not either being of true pure royal bloodlines, are obviously allowed. But I think Lion-O, along with his ancestors, have little choice in the matter.
Castle? Considering i like that they are starting from the beginning, like how most people did even in OUR WORLD here presently. Maybe that was a choice, as cats, to build a city with a castle. 
Makes sense to me And on thrid earth, as they crashed into it, prob had no more and/or any resources to continue with technology as they had when they were in outer space? A good topic for a new thread??!
We haven’t see any female lions on the show yet, not in flashbacks or background shots or anything. 
I have a thing for redheads, so I’m thinking they’ll be smoking hot when they do show! 
No, I mean caste system, like the one that was in India, where people are born into certain social classes like rich and poor. It’s been said by Dan Norton that cats with tails or more animal like traits are lower class citizens, while lions are royalty. I would think that tigers are pretty high up, and so would panthers considering Panthera played a very important role. I just wonder how it is that at present that there was inequality among the different cat races.
Actually what was said was that the tails were a social stigma and a birth defect. Which isn’t really the same as saying everyone who has one is low class.
It will be interesting to see how Thunderians with mixed parentage are seen.
