Hey guys I found this lever on the middle of Ma-Mutt’s back. What does everyone think it does, I for one think it was an action feature that got scraped (maybe to move his jaw). I would never have noticed except for the fact that I decided to make some Berbils that look more like the show/ original toy concept.
Here’s the link MannyC already watermarked it so it is ready for the site anytime I guess.
Chris here…
Hmmmm, I never noticed that before - could it be that LJN were experimenting with the idea of incorporating some kind of Battlematic action feature into Ma-Mutt?! ![]()
This is actually a really cool observation - can this info be incorporated into the main site somehow, perhaps as a new Prototype entry (“Ma-Mutt with battlematic lever”)? ![]()
Take care… ![]()
I was thinking the very same idea…I think that it should be incorporated into the prototypes section
Chris here…
Just had a closer look at that picture, and I’m just asking myself - are we sure that what we’re seeing as a lever on Ma-Mutt isn’t a heavily shaded tip of Snarf’s tail? I would have said Snarf’s tail was shorter than that, so quite likely it is a lever of some sort, but I just thought I’d throw the question out there to you toy experts! ![]()

I thought about the same thing with the tail but if you actually look at the card in person it looks like a brown lever and its flat
Chris I had thought of that also. I had even thought of the the idea that it might even be Ma-mutt’s own tail. But it does look like a lever and you are right Snarf’s tail is shorter

I think it’s a shadow cast by Snarfs tail. Though I’ll re-check the backs of my MOC Berbil figures.
EDIT: Wow! just checked and it definately is a lever attached to the Ma-Mutt!! I’ve never noticed that before for some strange reason. It can definately be added to the prototypes section if someone wishes to do that.
