Has anyone here picked up a trade paperback and liked it even more than they thought they would?
The first one was The Wrath of the Spectre. This TPB collects the entire run of the Spectre in Adventure Comics during the 70s and a mini series that ran during the 80s. I bought it mostly for the artwork of Jim Aparo. Part of the Spectre’s gig in this series was to punish criminals. In one case, a murderous beautician died when he was cut in half by a giant pair of scissors!
Iron Man: Demon in A Bottle: In this TPB, Tony Stark finds out Shield is trying to take over his company. At the same time, he’s also struggling with alcoholism.
Iron Man: Armor Wars: Stark finds out that armored criminals have gotten hold of his Iron Man technology and created their own armored suits. Stark’s out to neutralize these suits. Unfortunately, to the world, it looks like Iron Man’s gone on a rampage. Stark pretends to fire Iron Man and then faces another armored warrior called Firepower. To save his life, Stark tricks the government into thinking it’s killed IM and has to sacrifice his armor. Originally, he wanted to let IM stay dead, but wound up building a new suit when Firepower went rogue.
