Kyle's General Art

Ok here are a few of my old portraits. My speciality is photo-realistic portraiture. Non of these are photo-real, but are my best attempts from last year. I am yet to photograph my new stuff  Anyway here we go..

Self Portrait 2005 - Pencil
This is a pencil drawing of myself that I did on my foundation art course last year. It is about A4 in size and took me a couple of days. To date it is my most accurate pencil drawing.

Issac Hayes 2004 - Oil Paint
This is a painting I did for my mum of her favourite soul singer. It only took me 2 hours and was one of my first oil paintings. It is again around A4 in size.

Jennifer Aniston 2005 - Oil Painting
This is one of my biggest oil paintings yet. I think Jennifer Aniston has an amazing face to draw and couldn’t wait to do this one. It is around A1 in size.

(whistles appreciatively)

Thumbs up! Do you have any car artwork? I’d love to see you do KITT from Knight Rider or perhaps the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard…maybe the Gran Torino from Starsky & Hutch?

Dodge Charger - Pencil

I have only ever done one car before, But it was quite successful. It was a commission from a friend. It is A3 in size.

Wow

Serriously this is even better than your Thundercats art. They look just like photos. What is scary is that you are only 18. I wish I had that talent when I was 18. I can not wait until you photograph your newer art.

Wow, that’s beautiful work! Thanks for sharing it with us.

:yikes: Successful ISN’T the word for it! That’s jaw-dropping awesome! In the words of Bo & Luke Duke…YEEHAW! :cheetaraveryhappy:

This is supposed to be a 1975 Ford Gran Torino, the Starsky & Hutch car. I changed the color scheme. Where S&H was “Zebra 3”, I call this car…“Viper”. If you look at the stripe from an overhead angle, it looks like the fangs on a snake. Ink and colored pencil is the medium.

Thanks for your comments Rath and thanks for sharing your work. Your ‘Viper’ is well drawn, and I like that you have given colour scheme a personal twist.. Good stuff keep it coming

Reese Witherspoon 2005 - Pencil
Ok, here is a quick example of one of my photorealistic portraits. It is a 50-50 split of the original photograph and my pencil drawing to show its accuracy… The left hand side is the photograph and the right hand side is my drawing.

Nice work kzlambert. The Reese Witherspoon piece scares me a little though. :scratching:

Its quite wierd… most people say that my photo-realistic stuff is scary… can you spread any light in this Tygra..lol

It’s not your art it’s just Reese Witherspoon in general that scares me.:scared:

Thats fine then, … Well…Not for Reese Witherspoon LOL
Thanks for your comments anyway Tygra, greatly appreciated..

Kyle would you consider doing my favorite actress Angelina Jolie…please? only when you have time though

I do actually have a nice photograph of her in my to-do folder.. possibly I will do it sometime soon.. I actually have done a painting of her lips lol.. but it is very stylized and not very recognisable.. I will post it when I next photograph some of my work..

Ok here is some recent stuff

Ok here is one of my more recent paintings. Until my most recent painting, this is probably my most photo-realistic painting. It was apart of my exhibition at university. It recieved a lot of positive feedback at me exhibition.

Self-Portrait 2006 - Oil Paint
This is part of a sequence of paintings exploring the varieties of self-portraits t. It is painted on to an A3 MDF board. Below you can see the original photograph I worked from and the painting on display with the rest of my project.

Hey Kyle are you sure the first one is a painting and not an actual picture? Thats amazing!!!

I don’t get blown away often, I know a great number of great artists, but that painting is incredible. I totally agree with mannyscollectibles that it looks even more like a photograph than the one below it. How on earth do you paint like that. I have seen work that realistic in pencil like your other stuff, which is still amazing, but that. That is in a whole other bracket.

You could make a great deal of money with that talent. It just astounds me that you are so young. Most artists who paint as a career do not achieve those results.

Don’t stop what you are doing, it is breathtaking, I am sure everyone will agree with me.

Thanks Manny and Thundercutter, Again really appreciate the comments. Makes it worth while puttting so much time into my work

Will be posting more as soon as I have done it

Howdy

:yikes: Sweet Mary mother of God those are absolutley mind blowing.

Fantastic work.
