This was just something i thought of a while back;
What if Lion-O only thought he had a crush of Cheetara, but in truth, he really felt nothing for her?
Just a thought
Given how fast he “forgot” about her and turned to Pumyra, it is a possibility.
Considering I’ve known this for awhile, and that’s what the writers and creators were trying to convey the whole time, I would hope everyone knew this. I guess not.
It doesn’t matter. He was forced to turn the page.
If Cheetara really loves Tygra, I don’t see Lion-O returning by their support or advice, that would create unnecessary disputes between them, what he feels for Cheetara is a dead end, that was the lesson he learned in the trials.
You can say the same of Pumyra, they were little time together and she betrayed him.
Lion-O will surely want to redeem Pumyra, but not without a good justification. Hammy thinks that Lion-O is in love with Pumyra, however, their final reaction you could say the same of her.
He had to leave his own feelings for her in the past for its own sake, I don’t see the point of keeping hopes on it.
Lion-O tells Pumyra in Curse of Ratilla that he is left behind her feelings for Cheetara.
He had feelings for her, maybe he no longer have them, but that is different from that he never had.
I wouldnt say he never had any legit feeling for her. I think he had a crush on her, but it was not some epic life long love.
Hmmm …Lion-O has show sexual interest in most of the female cats we have seen so far.

Maybe at the core of it, he’s just a 17 year old male who wants a hot girlfriend 
Well there you have your real answer.
Obviously Tygra had real feelings for Cheetara stemming from his childhood.
Lion-O was only interested in this mysterious hot chick that was following him around. His ego was bruised when Tygra got the girl, and it stings (trust me, I’ve been there) but it is easier to get over.
I believe Lion-O may have real feelings for Cheetara and only accepts the relationship between her and Tygra because it makes her happy. He tried to move on by courting Pumyra but it ended in disaster in the season finale.
It’s really impossible to say what is the “right thing” cause the show ended without much closure to anything, you people who CLAIM you know what the real answers is are just fanboys who try to make your own end to the story.
Discussion works to see what sounds most logical and i can say from the looks of the show he had feelings for Cheetara but tried to let them go when she loved Tygra instead, Pumyra helped him with this until she betrayed them.
Personally, I suspect that Lion-O hasn’t really got over his feelings for Cheetara - he said to Tygra that he was happy for them, but then said to Cheetara that he wished he meant that. And remember, when Pumyra said “you like her, don’t you?” the way he said he was over it was not at all convincing.

well as of now, Lion-o ain’t gonna be interested in a romantic relationship with anybody for a while. he’s gone through two major rejections in a short while now.
I agree, we dont even know the timeframe of the series. If the later episodes just take place after each other they could be in the same day, next day or something simliar which would make it not far from when his heart broke and it usually takes a long time for that.
And i still think it’s funny how people STILL try to pair him up with someone, i’ve said this countless of times and many have agreed.
- NOW he’s had to “break-ups” quite close to each other
- He’s a king who had a job to do.
He does not have much time for that and nor does he need it, i also think he as of now might be sick of “girls” in that kinda way and just wanna “get the job done”.
Here are a few other thoughts that i’ve had:
Is it possible that Pumyra’s anger towards Lion-O was never a reflection of how the other Cat slaves thought about him?
And even if it was, is it possible that Cats are just being plain unfair?
I mean, think about it, the Cats obviously have a knack for being in charge, but perhaps that’s what led to them being too self-serving. They allowed their hubris to blind them to the needs of the other animals, who they claimed to have been keeping in line. So when Lion-O finally started to treat the other animals with the respect they deserved, the other Cats were just too arrogant to understand that this was how they should have been treating others if they wanted to have no trouble from the Lizards.
Similarly, when Thundera fell, rather than accept the fact that their enslavement was them finally getting their comeuppance and acknowledge the fact that Lion-O was right about everything they mocked him for, the Cats just decided to think what made them feel less at fault and blame Lion-O for simply not coming, even though they know perfectly well that after the way they treated him, he has no real reason to want to help. I still think that the fact that Lion-O did want to come and help them should’ve made the Cats feel like undeserving jerks for all the things they said and thought about him.
I think that this might have also been the reason why Tygra gave Lion-O such a hard time. Tygra just couldn’t accept the fact that Lion-O was right about technology, that he was right about the treatment of the Lizards, that all the ideals he was taught and embraced were wrong. Oh sure, Tygra was being more level-headed than Lion-O in “Ramlak Rising” (I still don’t fully understand that), but the Tiger just wouldn’t accept that Lion-O was right to not engage Slithe’s troops in “Song of the Petelars”, they were greatly outnumbered, fighting back would have been the end of them. Tygra just won’t accept that in the old days, he might have been better suited to be leader, but with Mumm-Ra’s return changing everything, someone with Lion-O’s kind of ideals is better suited to be in charge, since the old ways just won’t work anymore.
Similarly, Panthro was just too proud to accept the fact that his new leader is a teenager.
