Hi i found another tower today for opening and i really like it. i just wish that the cat head/gate piece was attached to the tower but i put it right in front of it to look like it’s one solid piece on display.
i took a close up pic o the top of the cat head because there is some nice detail all around but the cat head has some ivy which is consistent with the new show, however it’s not painted. not a big deal to me but i know there are others that will disagree. the vehicle is nice and its cat head flips down and doesn’t pop up until a figure is sitting in it. one thing i do not like is that the missile is not spring loaded. you just simply push it out, not sure why they opted for that.
the catapult is nice, i didnt know it would have two boulders to throw, this will probably be the first thing lost by kids, so hang onto yours!
I’m not a MOTU fan but this reminds me of the eternia playset imo. the light and sound are nice and bright and clear. however, i’m pretty sure it’s not the real lion-o’s (on the new show) voice.

I’m bummed the paint job is actually WORSE with LESS detail than the one they showed at Toy Fair. The details on the Cat’s Lair vehicle are gone, and any hint of wash detail on the cat head is gone. That stinks.
That being said… I actually think it’s pretty cool for a diorama piece for the T-Cats. I might buy one and then paint it up - add the detail to the vehicle, maybe weather the Cat’s head and the tower… paint the ivy…
I think with a little love it’ll actually be pretty cool. It’s nice and big all assembled.
How well does the light up feature work? Does it project very well?
didn’t this thing originally get designed to fold up into a truck like vehicle? i remember seeing that somewhere.
Man, This playset if pretty disappointing. I’d have to alter it. I would have to buy about half a dozen towers then I would use the cat gates to surround the tower, that would look cool.
I am under-impressed, but the invisible Tygra does look cool. It doesn’t really look like there’s much to do with the Tower of Omens and the Cats really can’t go inside. I think it would be neater if it was bigger and the size more accurate to the sizes of the figures in comparison with the show. I’m assuming the tower in the show will be bigger than that.
It’s funny because the core of the playset doesn’t seem all that different. I have to say, the idea of a mystical fortress folding up into a tractor trailer looking thing seems silly. Of course, it would have give it some play value, I suppose.
I do like the dangling vines and hover platform though.
It’s..um..cute? I don’t think I own any real playsets..but I would’ve preffered..more. But for what it is, it’s okay, and I agree, it will look great on display. Now I want one simply to give it a small paint job on the vines..
