I’ll be creating a thread every month where everyone can post what they expect to contribute to the site.
[B]NOTE: If you don’t expect to contribute anything for the month, please post saying you have no contributions at the moment. This will help everyone else know where each person stands at least for the near future.
Thanks.[/B]
I will be:
Updating the front page with the Amazon search box.
Grabbing screens from the remaining season one episodes (no time frame for when this will be completed).
Meet/speak with Matt regarding the Merchandise Area and hopefully complete preliminary plans for the layout.
I’ll be continuing my work on the Cartoon Section, as well as the Comic Section - specifically:
[ul]
[li]Writing-up and adding more episodes to our revamped Episode Guide - I haven’t set a target for number of episodes, but I hope to have the whole of season 1 completed by the end of March.[/li][li]Creating a webpage detailing the deleted scenes from the “movie” version of “Exodus”, complete with video clips (which Neil has already grabbed for me - thanks Neil!).[/li][li]Putting online an interview I conducted last year with UK TCats comic artist Martin Griffiths.[/ul]It’s possible that I may be able to contribute more than this before the end of this month, but these are my primary goals. [/li]
Take care…
My contributions are not so much content related but I am working on getting us paid advertisement on our front page. Details havent been ironed out yet because I have to figure out a pricing plan and the size. Which brings me to the next question, being that this is sort of unexpected and that we may have to act on this rather quickly we may need to change the layout of the front page however I am more inclined to move Larrys picture of the petition and the DVD adverts to accomodate CSG’s advertisement. They are actually interested in 2 different advertisements because they have a second website coming up very soon.
Guys this could be really good for the website but a pricing plan needs to be put into place quickly for 1 advertisement and a 2 advertisement package. Also monthly prices as well as quarterly and yearly that way they have more options.
I have done a little bit of research not much but I came up with $35/month for 1 ad and $50/ month for 2 ads. Perhaps $100/ quarter for 1 ad and $140 for 2 ads and if they would like to do yearly we can do $385/ year for 1 ad and $540 for 2 ads…how does that sound
Mark were are you, we need your advise???
EDIT:
Manny feel free to use Toys and Toons pictures…i was just given the thumbs up by Pete so long as we plug the website wherever we sue the pictures
Given that January is on its way out now, I am mainly proposing my goals for the upcoming months.
My aim is for a minimum of one new illustration for the Encyclopedia per week. Given my time constraints, I think that 4 per month is an achievable goal.
So far this month I have done the illustration for Territor, with one more planned for next week.
Not sure if this is the correct thread for posting this up, but just thought I’d mention that I’ve completed two out of the three tasks I’ve set myself TCL-wise for January - here’s the Martin Griffiths interview:
The Martin Griffiths interview has an image that IMO needs watermarking - would somebody be able to help me out with this?
In addition to working on some more write-ups for the Episode Guide, I’ve also assembled some more material for the Original Comic Art Gallery and hope to get this online soon, although this may not be until February.
I won’t be getting anything done in January. Chances are Feb will be a quiet month for me too on the site. I will be working with James to get more T-Cat content into cereal:geek (care of the site of course.)
In March or shortly beyond I’ll be publishing my original publicity art for the first time ever. It’ll launch on the site and the work I’m doing right now is to figure out who the artist was. It may take longer than a couple months to find out. I’ll be trying to contact people who worked for the show or Lorimar or Rankin Bass to see if I can get any leads.
I’ll probably run a short story on the front page (space willing) asking fans if any of them might know the artist, and I’ll approach the other active sites asking them to do the same.
I plan to interview the artist and purchase a commission too if he/she is willing.
I hope to get some stuff done next month, though I’m not sure what at the moment. Some cartoon related articles akin to things like the ‘Vultureman’s voice’ article probably.
Updating the front page with the Amazon search box.
[Completed]
Grabbing screens from the remaining season one episodes (no time frame for when this will be completed). [Half way done with the last 30+ episodes. Will upload first week of February.]
Meet/speak with Matt regarding the Merchandise Area and hopefully complete preliminary plans for the layout. [Have not yet contacted Matt regarding plan for Merchandise. See February Status thread.]
:jaw: Those are awesome, Kyle, fantastic work! LMK what text you need for them and I’ll try and get it done ASAP. Also, could I put in an early request for an illustration of Mumm-Ra’s King Arthur guise from the episode “Excalibur”? Whilst I haven’t written up that episode yet (it’s the next one on my list to do), I know that Mumm-Ra as King Arthur features a great deal in that episode and it wouldn’t surprise me if I ended up using at least one quote from him. If you’d rather wait until I’ve written up the episode to see if I use any quotes from him before doing the illustration that’s no worries, I just thought I should mention it - I hope this is OK, my friend.
