After seeing the latest episode, I’m wondering if Mumm-ra sealing Jaga in that lantern is going to be this origin of the show’s version of Jaga’s spirt form. Ethier Lion-o rescues the lantern and communicates with Jaga’s ‘floating spirit head’ through it (removing the obi-wan/ hamlet’s father feel of OS Jaga) or Lion-o smashes the lantern, Jaga’s spirit goes to the astral plane (the astral plane is the title of an upcoming 2 parter) and communicates with Lion-o from there. What does everyone else think?
Sounds plausible. Anything can happen, though, and I like that about this show. 
Good theory. And also if anyone paid attention, during times when Jaga was being tortured and of course after he got sucked into the lantern I swear he was glowing blue-ish like he did in the OS. Could’ve just been my sleep deprivation, though

I’m actually kind of glad they did this, creating more of a reason for Jaga to appear as a spirit-anything. Because if he had just died like Clawdus did, It would make more since for Clawdus to appear to Lion-o if a spirit could just appear to give advice.
Didn’t the Shadowmaster steal Claudus’ spirit in the OS? It’s probable that Lion-O will free Jaga’s spirit and we may see a subtle nod or two to the aforementioned OS Shadowmaster episode.
Do we know for sure that trapping him in the chamber has killed him? I wonder if he can be freed somehow.
Also a thought occurred that maybe Jaga will serve as the “Master Roku” figure for this new show…like how it was done on Airbender.
Jaga is still alive because he told Mumm-ra “You know I’ll die before revealing the book’s location.”
I was surprised they didn’t kill of Jaga at first, being that is what happened in the OS, I guess since Claudus was featured, he took the official “dying in the premiere” role in this series.
I am intrigued with how this Jaga Lantern is going to play out, is he capable of being rescued? will he be stuck in there forever and become a “Mirror Mirror on the Wall” kind of character? Can Jaga screw with Mumm-Ra and fight the evil powers of the lantern and attempt to throw Mumm-Ra and crew off the trail?
He could possibly be in a state of being where he is neither living nor dead. Breaking the lantern, or breaking the spell, may not bring Jaga back to life, but may be the only way to free his spirit.
Mumm-Ra may end up keeping Jaga in the lantern to add some tension to the plot, as Jaga seems to be the only one able to remove the protection spell on the Sword of Omens. The lantern may force Jaga to break spells AND point to the direction of the Book of Omens.
