OK I think we need to go Deeper into this and as I did not want to Hijack the SBS Talkback thread I figured I’d start a new one.
Let see what we can come up with that would be worse than Whiskers.

hairball/furball sounds like something a bad guy would call Snarf.
kitty litter would be out of place to me. they’re cats, but they’re intelligent humanoid cats. invention comes from necessity and they wouldn’t need it so it wouldn’t have been invented in this world.
“Meow, catnip!” “Meow” can be interchanged with “Oh…”, or it could just be “Catnip!”
Personally, I don’t mind “Whiskers” because it’s not enirely the goofiest line, ever uttered in a cartoon. Heck, it could be worse, they could say “Yarn it,” or “Dog gonnit!”
It isn’t THAT Lion-O says “Whiskers”. It is that he says it almost every episode, and it always seems built-up to that moment. In short, that line feels forced more often than not.
agreed. that’s exactly my problem with it. the word itself is fine, they just use it wrong and it makes it feel like a bad joke that someone tells over and over thinking if they tell it enough someone will eventually laugh.
When I first thought of this I thought “nah…” but then I thought of it some more and I think it could work. “De-Clawed”.
I don’t think it would work by it’s self, unless Lion-o accentuated the “De” part, but I could totally see them saying things like “We are so de-clawed”.
I think it would be funny if for at least one episode they had him say “Neutered”.
These are cute and funny. I remember in a fic on FF whenever they’d get on each other’s nerves the brothers would say, “Quit being such a tail!”
I’d kinda like this world’s vocab it if it was more low-key like Batman Beyond. 1) It took far too long for me to figure out what ‘shway’ meant, and 2) I don’t think it was overused
