First off i know this should be in the “Old” Thundercats part of the forum but as i never see people go there i post it here for a quick response.

Is that the real deal? ALL 130 EPISODES ON DVD
It says seasons 1-2. But did it not have more? UH so confused.

I agree that the new forums get more traffic, but please keep threads where they’re supposed to be, otherwise it defeats the object of having separate forums in the first place - and creates more work for us! :wink:

I’m not 100% familiar with all of the DVD releases, but I believe that DVD set is legitimate. :slight_smile:

When I first came online there was some debate about whether ThunderCats was 2 seasons or 4 seasons - the argument for 2 seasons being that there were 2 sets of 65 episodes produced, whereas the argument for there being 4 seasons was the fact that the second set of 65 episodes were released in batches over 3 years, namely 1986 - 1988. :slight_smile:

Warner Brothers decided to go with calling the 2 batches of 65 episodes “Season 1” and “Season 2”, and so that’s how they’re always referred to on DVD. So yeah, if it says “Complete Seasons 1 & 2” or something along those lines, then that’s a complete series set! :slight_smile:

I suppose this is worth asking: does this DVD include the parts cut from the pilot that the Lair hosts on their YouTube? there’s like 9+ of them

No it doesn’t :frowning: Even though the PAL masters were used, they still have the same cuts as the US NTSC masters.

Only way to get the uncut version is on the VHS release of Exodus :wink:

Also the Exodus VHS features a short intro of the main ThunderCats characters, better known as “the lost intro”, thats not on ANY dvd release..

Scenes were cut from the original Exodus pilot, to condense it down to a 22 minute episode for future airings. We have most of the cut scenes on our Youtube channel.

If the YouTube path is unavailable to you for any reason, I pointed out the differences between the Exodus “movie” and the episode versions of the first four episodes. The biggest differences are in Exodus and Berbils. The episode version of Berbils is actually much longer than the movie part. And in my honest opinion I feel that the movie version of Berbils makes more sense as the episode version creates a very odd little conversation at the end.

Just to add, the DVD version of The Unholy Alliance has a few extra short scenes compared to the portion of it that makes up the VHS movie version.

I bought the 4 box complete series that was originally released by WB. Did any of you guys notice that there was no music for Episode 2: The Unholy Alliance?

That was only on the region 1 sets and WB later offered replacements of the disc that was effected.
