Is there a connection of Avatar in Thundercats?

As weird as it sounds, probably the best fit for the kind of budget Thundercats would probably receive, would be Jon Favreu. If Spider-Man set the bar for the new millennium comic films, he raised it with Iron Man.

Thought Iron Man was top notch myself, so I’d be happy with him. Whoever did the Spiderman film… ugh, please no. I thought the first was okay, but the rest went down hill fast. Nice special effects, horrible story.

I’m speaking of the James Cameron movie, not the Nicktoon. I mean there are similarities to Cameron’s movie with the world of Thundara being like Pandora, the Na’vi being like Thundercats and the exotic world thing even the idea of good vs. evil.

I agree with some of the others that think Avatar probably wasn’t inspired by Thundercats. At least not directly, though I’m sure Cameron has heard of TCs. However, he seemingly does have a running theme with catgirls [or cat people in general], as Avatar is his second franchise that deals with them. (If you recall, Max and her training team from his show Dark Angel were all spilced with feline DNA; though obviously they didn’t look stylized as the Na’vi were.)

Funny this thread exists because it was actually the first thing that came to mind when I saw the movie (I hated the movie, btw, overrated as hell).
