Guys I’ve noticed something about all the pages on the site! At the very top of each page, instead of thundercatslair.org being displayed, it says TCL.org
Could this in turn be one of the reasons for us receiving a poorish ranking on google.
This is also a concern for me because if someone is briefly googling ‘Thundercats’ and makes a quick note of ‘TCL.org’ (which is the name that shows up for our site on google) to visit that site later, look what comes up by them logging on to: www.TCL.org
What does everyone else think? Personally I think this isn’t helping us and I think all the pages should really say our full url otherwise we advertising a site that has nothing to do with Thundercats!
I do agree with you on this Neil, Im not sure the rankings have anything to do with having TCL.org on top of each page but its worth changing IMO. I changed the front page but the toys section needs every page changed to thundercatslair.org. I dont know how to change every single page on the toys page rather than doing them one by one and that would take me ages to do so if anyone knows how to change those all at once then that would be great. Otherwise we will be changing single pages and as Neil also mentioned pages on some of the other sections show TCL.org
Any time a key word like ‘thundercats’ appears on your site or in certain parts of an html document is good. Especially since that word seems to be the top search term for the subject at hand. Certainly can’t hurt.
Not sure how your pages are structured…well, at least what I’d need to know I can’t find out by looking at source code. So I hesitated before to offer up a suggestion that will help you make changes like the page title thing easier in the future (was going to say something in a thread where the recent site overhaul came up, but then thought better of it. Unsolicited advice can get annoying after a while, I know) - you’d only have to change and upload one file to either effect things site-wide, or if you preferred, within each directory. Wish I knew about it before my site got so huge, so the sooner you do it the better.

mmm perhaps it doesn’t actually make a difference in google rankings per se, but I think it’s mis-advertising to have TCL.org displayed. Like I said, if someone makes a mental note of the url and then logs onto the site www.tcl.org they won’t exactly be viewing ‘Thundercats’
I feel that this point IS a big deal to be honest.
