I have been thinking about getting an mp3 player now for awhile. I want something light that I can take running or camping (as that’s really all I’ll use it for). I also want something that I can put my entire music library on and not something that doesn’t have enough gigs so I have to swap out my music. I used to not want to be one of those people with the Ipods (you know the ones who follow every fad and trend). But Ipods hold a lot of music (I would be looking at getting an 80gig). So here is my question who has what and what do they like about it and what don’t they like about it. I have had people recommed either the iPod or the Zune.
I have a 4th generation 20GIG ipod and have had it for almost four years without any major problems. I bought an ipod touch today, but I got a defective one unfortunately.
But yeah, I’ve heard some good stuff about the Zune, but cosmetically it isn’t very nice and its very bulky. The biggest difference between the two players is the price. The new Zunes are coming out first week of October, so you might want to hold out.
I’ve had 2 iPods within the last year. 1st iPod I threw against the wall because it ceased to work ( after i tried to change the faceplate myself) and the 2nd one works like a charm. I bought mine refurbished from Apple and it works like a charm. I’d say go for iPod, its lighter and it seems best suited for what you need it for
I own last year’s version of the 80GB iPod - it’s not the smallest thing ever but definitely not cumbersome or particularly heavy. I regard it as one of the best things I’ve ever purchased, and I use it pretty much every day!
The new 80GB iPods I believe are a lot smaller than my one, and sound like just what you’re after - however, I shall defer to Kyle, our resident Apple expert, to advise you further!
The new 80 GB iPod Classic is fantastic value. For less money than you would have spent for a 30 GB only 3 weeks ago you get a slimmer device with over double the capacity.
The big thing I would say about why you should go for an iPod, is its simplicity. Apple always take a product that is difficult to use and simplifies it. Hence why before the iPod, there was no leading MP3 device. All these years later, the ease of use still remains, with prices as low as you will ever see and storage higher than ever before.
I have never seen a zune in real life, as it is US only at the moment, but my personal opinion is the iPods are popular for a reason.. they make listening to music on the go easier than anything else..
