I’ve edited and touched up the interviews I’ve done so far with the exception of Lynne Lipton who’s interview is already uploaded.
Changes - volumised the interviews so they’re louder and clearer but not loud enough to be distorted. Take a listen and give me your thoughts.

Just an update: I just need to write the descriptions for the interview pages and I’ll make all of the interviews public.
Nick: I’m going to give you access to the backend of the site so you can upload the interviews directly to the site. 
I’m also going to give you a folder in the staff directory so you don’t have to use MegaUpload anymore!

Yeah, no HTML is required to upload files. I think it’s better if you upload the audio files to the site rather than using Megaupload.

Megaupload is such a mega pain, anyway.. That whole ‘put in 3 letters’ thing always really bugged me. 
I’m in the process of moving the interview section to where Chris originally wanted it and that’s when I’ll add the photo of Stephen.
And I’m really sorry about not replying to your PMs. I’m kind of reluctant to visit the forums these days because of the problems I caused. Suffice to say I am not ignoring your messages. Thanks for being patient with me.

Thanks Manny, that’s very kind of you. Please don’t think that that was (or is) a big issue for me because it wasn’t/isn’t, but if you’d be able to move it without too much hassle that would be lovely - thanks again, my friend.
Well, I don’t really want to drag topics from my resignation thread over to here because I’d like to keep that as self-contained as possible and feel that pretty much everything that needs to be said has been said - but, you shouldn’t feel reluctant to visit these forums, indeed I would say that not visiting these forums and so not keeping in touch with us would actually make the problem worse! Whereas, all of the team (not just you) keeping in as close a contact with each other as we can should actually resolve any issues - so, please don’t feel reluctant to visit these boards on my account, that’s the last thing I would want!
And, just to bring this thread back on-topic - isn’t that Nick Mills dude a genius when it comes to interviews?!

Thank you. I hope there’s still more to come - Peter’s Lawrence’ email actually came quite a while after I sent it. So hopefully, I’ll suddenly get replies to emails for Lee, Leonard Starr and a bunch of others. I want to seriously interview Earle Hyman but Lynne said he wasn’t in good shape in the email she sent. 
I’ll send a letter (which I keep putting off but I HAVE to go in tomorrow to see Batman with my Dad) and I’ll eventually get it sent. Email to the States takes about a week or so, could be possible I get a quickish response.
Peter Newman.. no idea whether I got his right email address. I’m going to email this agent again and see whether I can get the address directly from the agency. Don’t know where that’s going to go.
But with the luck I’ve been having, I hope it keeps going.
About moving the interviews section to its respective place…would I just make an audio interview subsection link or do you want each interview to be displayed on the page?
Is it okay to also drop the documentary in the same section with it’s own page as well?

I think as long as it’s easy to find, I’ve not got a problem with it. And where it is right now is very easy to find.. so I’d keep it where it is. But I don’t exactly know what Chris wants - and it’s really entirely up to him. I think he wanted it in his section.

The only reason I really wanted the Interviews located in the sub-section MannyF linked to is because that’s where I think they fit best - there’s already a Larry Kenney text interview in there (which I conducted waaaaay back in 2000 for a website that never got produced, and subsequently debuted here last year), and so I thought it was the logical sub-section to place these in.
This subsection is also billed as “A wide-ranging look at many aspects of the origins of the ThunderCats series, including information on the show’s writers, cast and production team”, so again, these interviews seem to fit pretty logically in there…
As far as the documentary goes…yeah, I reckon it would be OK stuck in there, not certain where else I’d put it, and IMO it would be good to keep all of Nick’s audio work together!

That sounds fine to me. I’d really like to see that Peter Lawrence interview uploaded at some point so I could email it to him and get his reaction - possibly get a review of it to stick under the interview of whether he enjoyed it or not. Just an idea..
But that section does seem a bit way-out there - hard to find. I do get lost with the website sometimes. But whatever Chris is happy with, I’ll be happy with. Just as long as there’s some sort of front-page update with the links provided so people can find it easier, I’m cool.

To be honest, I would think that if folks are looking for interviews, I would have thought the obvious place to look would be in a section with the word “Interviews” in the title.
Unfortunately with all the various amounts of different material that falls under the Cartoon Section, which is far, far more varied than any other area of this site, IMO you really have two options - you can either break it down into sub-sections like it is already and put stuff within those sub-sections, or you just have a couple of main bits (such as “Episode Guide”, “Encyclopedia”, etc.) and then have dozens and dozens of different bits and pieces just added. I know MannyF once mentioned about the layout of the Cartoon Section - I am open to alternative suggestions, but to be honest I just think that the alternative to what’s there now would actually make things even harder to locate than they already are, more like Angie’s site where everything is just dumped higglety-pigglety into one place - IMO the way it’s laid out currently is very logical and is the way I personally would find easiest to locate something…
Without wanting to rake up old problems, one of the arguments I had with Celesta was during a time when Mark was taking a hiatus from this site and she wanted to see his Animation Art Section encorporated into an area entitled “Behind the Scenes”, which would basically contain everything relating specifically to the actual production of ThunderCats. Both Kyle & I as Cartoon Section co-managers felt that this would be to downgrade Mark’s amazing material too much, to make it a sub-section within a sub-section - however, technically she did have a point insofar as that you could then have a section that combined a lot of the stuff that’s spread out over the Cartoon Section - the Animation Art, the complete episode scripts we have uploaded, your interviews + any articles giving info about the show’s voice cast, writers, etc., Mark’s recent Mike Germakian article, all of that would then belong in there. You could then streamline the Cartoon Section down to three sub-sections - Behind the Scenes, Cartoon Guide (containing nothing but the Episode Guide and Encyclopedia), and Special Features (containing everything that didn’t fit into either of the above). However, after this long, to be honest I think it’s best to leave things as they are, but, as always I am willing to listen to alternative suggestions.

If you have the time to recreate the pages, go ahead and take over Chris. Did you want to move over the pages yourself as well? I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes. The Cartoon section is your section afterall.

It might be best if I took care of all of that side of things, just so you and I don’t end up crossing over in terms of the work we do - ironically, I just PM-ed Nick explaining about why I would need to recreate what you’ve done (not having Dreamweaver, and not being very good at HTML), you must have been typing at the same time as me, LOL!
As I said to Nick in my PM to him, I feel like a complete jerk having to do it, just because I feel like I’m somehow putting your work down, which is definitely not my intention - if I’m going to be processing the updates to Nick’s interviews, it’s just easier for me to do that if I build the page that’ll be being updated. I hope you understand and aren’t offended by this, Manny, as I’m really anxious that I don’t upset you with this!

Go ahead, Chris. I’m not offended - if that’s what you want and if it makes sense, do it. I’m sure it’s not too much of a problem - definately not enough for me to really oppose it. But your probably right and so I leave it to you, Chis-tah-fuh, to make me proud.
But I’d like to keep it where it is (interviews) and here’s why - and I’m going to be totally honest. In the ‘Special Features’ section, this is something that is very easily found and is accessible within a click, something I don’t feel for the section where the text interview is. I do agree with you on some degree, but.. going to ‘about the series’ and then going to another link is something I don’t believe users will do instinctively. I think the first thing they’ll click (and I do certainly, too) is that ‘Special Features’ link.
The interviews (and Mark’s article) are special features of this website - not general information. We’ve worked to find these things out. I don’t mean to annoy anybody with this, but.. IMO, I think it’s just confusing to move it to that section. When we do the Leonard Starr text-interview, that can get put with that text of Larry’s because that’s where they should be stored. But in that small section is general information whereas our interviews are special features (just like on a DVD) and so that’s where people will first look. I think changing it up now will only confuse things and I’m not too, well, enthusiastic about it being moved. I feel it’s more of a ‘technicality’ issue instead of an actual sense-making move.. but to wrap it up, our interviews are special features.
I’ve just read you sort of decided to leave it. Oh well. ranting for the sake of ranting. Heh. Anyways, please do whatever you feel is necessary with the page you create so you can upload new content easy and everything. Since we’re doing lots of interviews in the next few months, we could do with a page that looks good but is easy to edit and upload. Apart from that, fire away.
