Wasn’t Larry working on Imus’ radio show and if so, was he fired too? :?
Yes, Larry has been working for Don Imus for 30 years, which would mean roughly about the time Imus first started his career as a radio personality. Larry’s job on Imus’s show is doing impersonations of various well-known public figures (Larry’s own website gives these facts). I don’t know for certain if Larry is unemployed because Imus no longer has a radio show, but sadly I’d have to say that’s now a good possibly.:o
That sucks. I just hope he wasn’t part of the whole Imus debacle.
You and me both, Manny. I’d hate to see his career suffer because of Imus’s stupidity. Larry doesn’t deserve it.:bengali:
oh no! i didn’t even think about that. but i thought the show was gonna go on anyways, just w/ a new host. or was i misinformed?
I don’t know anything about that, saltygirl, so I can’t confirm what you heard. All I know is what I read in Time and Newsweek as well as what I found on Larry’s website larry-kenny.com. The link to that site is here on Thundercatslair.org. and Purrsia’s website thundercatsfans.org , in the “Results are In” section listing this year’s T-Cat fan award winners.
Let’s just hope this mess didn’t touch Larry.:bengali:
Oops, I made a mistake here! Larry Kenney has been in radio for more than 40 years, but he’s been a regular cast member of “Imus in the Morning” since 1982. Sorry about that.:duh:
On a brighter note, Larry is represented by Donald Buchwald and Associates, a New York City talent agency. If Don Imus’s firing led to Larry being pinkslipped as well, I sincerely hope his reps will find work for him.
Larry was still working on the show, with a fill-in host.
Now to be honest, I can no longer stay awake long enough to
hear his show, so I have no idea if it was canceled, or just re-named.
So I am unsure if he still works for the station or not. He still has
royalties from General Mills for the commercials he previously recorded,
and any new ones as well, so I am sure he will be fine for the time being.
That’s good to know, voice guy. I have been a little worried about Larry, so thanks for the info. :cheetaraveryhappy:
