Speaking of which, did you know that not only ThunderCats will make their grand come back in 2011?
A new series of Mysterious Cities of Gold is currently in production for a 2011 release. 
I don’t remember any of the cartoons you mentioned lager lout but my favorite shows, after Thundercats of course, are Transformers Generation 1 and Batman the Animated Series.
The original 98 episodes of Transformers G-1 had the same successful recipe as Thundercats, it was written and recorded in America and the series was animated in Japan but unlike Thundecats, the general concept was based upon the Japanese toyline Microman by Takara. They came out about a year earlier than Thundercats. I really liked them and i believe even to this day after so many efforts to reboot Transformers the original story-wise G-1 still remains the best. Also the 1986 animated movie was great featuring the death of Optimus as well as the introduction of New characters! the recent Transformers movies were a big flop comparing to the show,in my personal opinion.
Batman came out much later and i thing it was WB’s first effort in the DC animated Universe. It was a film-noir influenced style cartoon being so close to Frank Miller’s comics and Tim Barton’s 2 batman movies. The show was sophisticated and adult-oriented. No wonder it has received so many praises, Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy did a fantastic voice acting, Danny Elfman’s music theme was very dynamic, the writing team included many acclaimed comic book writers giving a mature aspect to the scenario. I loved the black tone animation. Every now and then i watch episodes of this fantastic series.:liono

Yeah, I remember Terrahawks and Thunderbirds 2086, which are connected - as I remember it, Terrahawks actually was a puppet-based show, a lot more serious than that description makes it sound, made by Gerry Anderson, whilst Thunderbirds 2086 was an anime based off of Gerry Anderson’s iconic Thunderbirds puppet series - again, a lot more serious than the description makes it sound!

I’d say it’s a cultural/national thing.
Given the shows that lager lout posted (and the username) I’d guess that you are from the UK, and with the exception of Mysterious Cities of Gold all the rest of the shows that you mention were UK based (MCOG was a france/japan production)
I’ve recently seen Terrahawks and The Young Ones aired at midnight over here for a while in the 90’s. (Canada)

EDIT: Turbo Teen? Was there a toy made of him by Revell as a model kit, that was a recolor of a GoBots Turbo with a different head? I think he turned into a Thunderbird or Camaro…
