Everliving Mumm-Ra was the first Thundercats figure I ever got. Hopefully you will come across some of the old figures one day.

The old LJN figures are still the best versions of the characters you can get.

If I could rewrite two things no Thundercats, I would “fix” “Thundercats Ho!” to give some reason that Lion-O heads to Fire Rock Mountain.
I would also fix the ending of “Mumm-Ra Lives!” so that the Thundercats free the prisoners from Skytomb (which was their whole point of going there).

Aside from nostalgia they are the more practical choice. With the vintage LJN figures you don’t run the risk of getting a figures with quality control problems.
I would have the Thundercats leave the Lunatacks in Skytomb and blast it off into space.

Maybe but they don’t really appeal to me but if I found them somewhere I’d probably get them anyway.

We do not see or hear any mention of them freeing the slaves. Later episodes did not depict them being in Skytomb, so I think we can assume they were likely freed by the Lunatacs themselves since earlier in “Mumm-Ra Lives! Part 5” they mention that Skytomb is able to operate without them. The only reason they keep the slaves is to draw the Thundercats to Skytomb.
If that’s the case, then there’s an even chance that the Lunataks may have executed the slaves.

Yap. The only reason to think they released them is because they specifically mention “jettisoning” them, which leads to an argument.

What prisoners? I completely forgot about them till now. Guess that’s how good the arc was written, centering in the Lunataks rather than in the TC’s original mission. Were those prisoners seen again, ever?
That would have made them a really scary menace and not the comic relief they finally become. They wouldn’t have been the first killed charatcers in the series after all: all the fleeding Thunderians, the Mossland Monster (yes, the TCs KILLED it), the Living Ooze (I think it showed up later after “Mandora, Evil-Chaser”,but not sure…in any case, to me it died in that episode, or at least it was Mandora’s intention to kill it), and we can assume that vampire-mermaid that Lion-O trapped in a submarine cave finally died of starvation LOL.
The Living Ooze was seen briefly in “Lord Of The Snows” I think, as the meteor flew by.

Let’s not forget the utterly brutal way they “killed” off Mumm-Ra the very first time. I know he came back but that was just disturbing.

I don’t believe we ever see the Brutemen or Bulken’s again, but we see some Wolo’s in “Vultureman’s Revenge”. If you’re asking if we ever see them in Skytomb again - no, we don’t. The rescue of them is never mentioned again after the Thundercats arrive in Darkside and split up to look for Skytomb.
While I am at it, that brings up the fact that they were able to get to Darkside using the Thundertank with Panthro’s special fog lamps. The fog lamps are something else that gets forgotten from this episode onward and falls back to Lynx-O to navigate to Darkside.
This has all made me realize one more thing I would “fix” - the whole notion of getting to Darkside. The way its written really makes no sense AT ALL. If the Thundercats could not get there by going through Fire Rock Mountain…why not just use the Feliner to circumnavigate the whole thing? Then there are other issues such as in “Time Switch” where I believe the Thundercats get to Darkside without Lynx-O (the journey there is not shown or discussed, if I am remembering correctly). Also in “Sideswipe” Mandora is forced to take Lynx-O with her so he can get her to Darkside. But why? She’s not a Thunderian, so she could go via the regular route through Fire Rock Mountain. So not only did the situation the writer’s created not really add up to begin with, but they also immediately play fast and loose with their own rules as they set them up. It feels like the whole idea was just so that Lynx-O would have some importance, but they could have found other ways to do that. The best thing to do would probably be to do away with the plot device altogether (if we’re discussing how to best rewrite things). What do you all think?

Yes, Mandora could just come into Darkside straight from space on the Electrocharger. The same can be said for the Thundercats in the Feliner. I believe Snarfer crash landed in Darkside direct from space.
