I would change the plotline for the episode bracelet of power. Why? Because WHY would thundercats who are supposed to be LAWFUL GOOD have something that would mind control people? Also WHY would mumm-ra need to use such a thing when he’s mind controlled them hundreds of times before?
The bracelet who has POWER in it’s name should have had a different function. Like it increased the strength of the one wearing it. Because of this Mumm-Ra decides he wants it and manages to get it and then proceeds to Hulk Smash Cat’s Lair.
How they manage to get it back I don’t know but I DO know that the Sword is NOT used to repair the lair afterward.

Maybe the bracelet was built by a dark Thunderian wizard (ala Harry Potter) that wanted to control every Thunderian to govern the planet. The wizard was defeated by Claudus, Jaga, Grune or whoever and that person, ina very smart move, decided to keep the bracelet as part of the treasure rather than destroy it, because you know, if something is really dangerous you better keep it away from everybody instead of destroying it for good (that’s made in many cartoons and movies).

Interesting ideas. In defence of the writer though, when they first found the bracelet they didn’t know what it was, they just gave it to Snarf as a random trinket.

Fair enough. That was never explained. One of the biggest problems with Thundercats is the lack of explanation for things. That and the catchphrase fixing everything.

I got to also wonder about quite a few of the treasure’s they find as well… like that awful chain of loyalty. Are Thundercat relationships that fragile that they need a chain to keep them intact?

That was one of the worst episodes and the bracelet was one of the stupidest things in the series. In fact the treasure in general was really stupid and how it was all on new Thundera.

I think we’ve probably already discussed the whole topic of New Thundera and the treasure multiple times just on this thread!
But let’s remember the jade dragon was from hachiman’s world… it was a pretty good piece of treasure actually. too bad the only good thing that came out that episode it was this really well drawn screecap. XD

I wish Hachiman had been in a lot more episodes. He was awesome. So was his toy. Aside from Thundercats it worked with lots of other toylines. :rolleyes:biggrin

Slightly unrelated but I actually got the toy of Hachiman in September 1997 from a Poundstretchers shop here in Northern Ireland. I was 12 at the time and we went up to Ballymena and whilst in the shop I decided to have a walk past the toy isle and I was stunned to see around two dozen Hachiman figures for £2.99 each. 
I grabbed one and asked my Mum and Dad if I could get it and I did. When we went back a week or so later they were all gone.

You were lucky there. My one friend says her nephew has one of the 80s mumm-ra toys. she said she didn’t know what it was until i started talking about thundercats. he’s missing his headdress though. lol somebody must have given that kid a bunch of real old toys. I’m kinda of hoping i come across one of those thundercat toys sometime when I go to a goodwill store.
