I am looking for a hi-res version of the following classic artwork.

I used to have it on my wall as a kid but I haven’t seen a poster sized one since the late 80s. 
It has to be more than 1MP so I can print it on at least an A3 sized sheet.
No Wilykit on it.. why? Was she a late addition to the show?

Maybe that was an early poster, and Wilykit wasn’t considered in the series, and they decided to add her lately. If not, that poster always bothered me as well 
That could be. But every time I’ve seen that image it’s always bothered me that there was no Wilykit! haha.
It was a very popular promotional image throughout the franchise and indeed it was made during the initial production of the series. There’s a big chance that a second kitten was not considered back then.
It’s my basic image of the ThunderCats since it was used on the cover of the Greek dub VHS of the first four episodes and as a beloved poster in my room.
It was given to me by my mother along with a Tuska Warrior figure she bought me when we moved to another apartment when I was 4.
Unfortunately, we moved from there when I was 11 and I never saw it since, it was probably scrapped and thrown away. Finding it (or at least a good scan of it) now would be a very nice addition to my vintage collection room… it gives me goosebumps of nostalgia.
I’ll take a look through my things this weekend…I’m sure I have a high res version of this somewhere, if from nothing else but from the annual cover that featured this artwork.

I can relate with that, being a Tygra fan who got frustrated and angry when they started to make him aside from season 2, almost ignorating him in 3 and getting to the humiliating point of almost writing him off in 4.
So yes, it made me angry that there was no Wilykit. That image was the cover of a sticker album that was released here in Peru in the late 80s (1897 - 1988, when the series aired here), and since then it made me mad that she wasn’t in it.
That’s one of the best original images I’ve seen from the show, but unfortunately without Wilykit I’d be annoyed every time I saw it if I had the poster. I’d rather it had neither of the twins than one without the other.

I haven’t forgotten about ya - looked through some of my discs, but no luck so far. But I’ll continue after work tonight. I know I have this somewhere!
I love that poster and its obviously done before production. The sword has eye holes, Panthro doesn’t have the under arm strap, Cheetara’s costume is slightly different as well. Also, snarf didn’t have any yellow on his red coat. I was also bothered by missing Wilykit but Lion-O’s right leg anatomy was WAY off lol. They gave him two knee caps!
Also, Wilykat has only one thick stripe in his head, instead of two thin ones. And Tygra seems to have two shoulder sleeves instead of just the left one.

It always annoys me when shows use non finalized promotional artwork through out the run of a show, especially when character designs change a lot. I remember seeing a pink Starfire for Teen Titans all the way to the end of the show even though she was orange, not to mention the characters also looked differently.
To be fair its not like Tygra had a big role in Season 1 either, he got about as much screentime as Cheetarah the female (this being an action cartoon aimed mainly at boys) and even then I think she got more. I don’t mind it either since he’s such a dull character in the original show, I mean they made Panthro the strong one AND the smart one, jeeze they didn’t think that through very well, “oops lets just say he has psychic powers he never really uses anyway”… hopefully he doesn’t get shafted as badly in the new show.
I think you’re wrong here. First of all, Tygra wasn’t dull 
Seriously, Tygra did have kind of a big role in the first eps of season 1, many episodes turning around his character and him being appointed as an important member of the team (Fireballs of Plun-Darr, Problem With Time, Garden of Delights, All that Shines are just a few). It was since the second half of that season, and from then on, that Cheetara and Panthro started having a major role, throwing Tygra to almost the background.
just wanted to add this iconic art piece belongs to an artist who was in charge of character design and development of the main protagonists, named Mike Germakian. He was very much involved at the illustration and drawings of Thundercats.
This promo poster is a unique work of art for me.
Ok, finally found a copy of this image I hope will do, buried on a disc full of stuff I saved around 2006 or so. Sorry about the long wait…life’s been a little crazy lately I want to say credit for this image belongs to my friend evangelinos, this being the result of the base image he cleaned up to make the wallpapers he donated here. Hopefully he won’t mind me sharing this here
