is there any notion of doing second show based on the minimate? I think it would be great for bring in younger fans into the Thundercats brand. There are two transformer shows running currently “Transformers Prime” and “Transformers rescue” with prime clearly designed for an older audience. I look at the minimates and think of a “Nijago” type show to run currently with the Thundercats 2011 series, that is designed for a slightly younger audience who are still into toys over video games.

Thanks! I have a 10 years son so we watch a ton of cartoons he loves Thundercats OS and NS, but at 7 I don’t think he would have cared for the NS as much even now he prefers the “sillier” episodes. The thing is he rarely plays with toys and prefers video games by so I think to get kids into toys you have to start much younger like a show targeted at 5-6 years. I also think the NS show should to more with video games. I’m going to buy my son the DS game to show my support but the graphics don’t look very good and I know he is going to pick up on that he is quite the video game critic.
I’ve always viewed the show as much, MUCH darker and more mature than other cartoons. I don’t think a lot of people agree with me, but there’s basically some form of death almost every episode. There have been multiple on-screen deaths and overall the story is much more complex than other shows. This is another reason why I think it should be on Toonami, but that’s a different story for a different thread.
As for a minimates show, it would be a good thing to have maybe as a mini-series where they follow the same structure as the OS. I couldn’t see it developing into a full-fledged series, though. It would definitely help with popularity. I still think the best option for now is to try to continue the NS until its story ends. Then there can be other shows/comics/toys/etc.

[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=2]I would like for Thundercats to become a strong brand that continues to be re-envisioned and I think the best way for that to happen is to have multiple interactions with the character at onces. Show/movies/comics/etc. something always out and 2 other things on the drawing board with overlap. Transformers is a good example of this. A niche following scares me because it will always be an economic fight to get the next project up and running or even get one projected.[/SIZE][/FONT] [/SIZE]
We don’t even know if the Season2 will ever air…asking for minimats show is plain wishful thinking at this point.

Another similar idea would be for there to be more animated shorts to fill the hiatus desert until the episode-laden monsoon season finally arrives.
How often are new toy lines with a new modified design released for an old cartoon without and corresponding new cartoon released?
I would be up for a minimates version, but I would like to see them be able to close out the NS first.
