Hello. Big, big Thundercats fan of course. It’s my absolute favorite cartoon. I remember fretting on the drive home from school wanting mom to drive faster so I wouldn’t miss the episode. lol Never had many of the toys or anything like that, But one of my earliest memories is my 5th birthday where I got Lion-O. My brother had gotten Mumm-Ra the month before and we battled. lol
We kept taking off Mumm-Ra’s helmet chanting, “Bald headed geek! Bald headed geek!” lol
Really excited about the new show and the chance to finally get my hands on some decent Thundercats figures.
lol great story! I thought Mumm-Ra looked funny with his helmet off too. For some reason, I thought he’d have hair under there and I remember being a little taken aback by how much of a baldy he was!
I’m so glad to have met you! I also remember rushing home from school to watch Thundercats back in 1986…I know, I know it came out in 1985 but I remember watching it religiously back in 1986. I used to complain and watch the clock closely when my parents would go to the store directly after school. I got out at 2:30pm as most Catholic schools did…the show was broadcasted at 3pm and 4:30 pm where I lived so if I missed the first chance at 3pm, I could re-watch the same ep (I always did regardless) at 4:30pm.
I came from a poor family but at Christmas time I got a few figures and the Cat’s Lair… and for my birthday in August, I got the four main figures (Wilykat came with Tygra and Wilykit came with Cheetara). Being a child of the 1980’s was awesome. I was in the fifth grade at the time…a perfect time to be a kid!
The past few decades of cartoons were horrible, I’m grateful the Thundercats are coming back at a time where my kids (both 9 and 8…well, next week my daughter will be eight) will be able to enjoy and get into them. Christmas is sooo going to be fun this year since my kids always loved T-cats because of me…I showed the trailer to my kids and they went nuts!
Yeah cartoons kinda went downhill this past decade. channels completely gave up on saturday mornings and there are NO week day cartoons anymore. Tho there are a few (very few) gems.
I don’t have any kids myself, but I’m totally going to spoil my niece and nephew with the new figures and probably the dvds too since they dont get cable.
