Just wondered how much you would spend(either dollars or GBP) on some of the rarer MOCs listed below in a say 7.5/8 condition as you dont see many perfect MOCs
Rare MOCs id say would be
Bengali £150
Lion-o thunderwings £300
Mummra with luna lasher £300
Thundercats Lair boxed(large one not open) £200
Tongue-A-Saurus sealed box £150
Anyone else?
I would gladly pay that or more for a sealed Tongue-A-Saurus or Cat’s Lair, there aren’t that many (if any) available for sale at any given time. I think Luna Lasher Mumm-Ra and Thunderwings Lion-O are worth a lot more than that regardless of the market. I turned down 2500 for mine before because I didn’t know when/if I could replace it. I think 8 back Thundercats plus Mumm-Ra and series 3 and Rampagers top end should be about $200, average 150. Regular issues between 50 and 125, most shouldn’t be more than 100 except Grune, Mongor, and possibly Safari Joe. Graded figures should add about 50-75 for grades 70-75, 80s or 85s double that.
If you can point me where I can buy a MISB Cats Lair for just £200 I’d snap it up in a heartbeat!
I’m afraid finding one for that low of a price is wishful thinking. I’d say for a MISB Lair you’d be looking at, at least £400.
Bengali doesn’t interest me so i changed that one out :eek:

My most recent more expensive purchases (with highest price I was prepared to pay were):

MIB (Opened/untouched) tongue a saurus £550

MOC Pumyra (C.8 yellow bubble) £65
MOC (Unpunched C.8.5) Jaga £100
I may have paid high on some of these, but bargains don’t really appear on ebay anymore and there are lot of bidders after similar items so prices will probably go a lot higher than you expect. I picked up loose thunderwings lion-o and loose luna lasher mummra recently so not too bothered about having these carded, but I guess they will go for 2-3 k if left to bids. Bengali I bid £120 for the last MOC to appear, and it went for over £200 as far as I remember.
Man these are some exceptional finds you were able to snatch and i bet they will be in fairly great condition too, but WOW man if you add the digits you must have paid a whole lot of money for them!!!
Anyway, these are the rules of the game! Can’t wait to see your pieces posted on the Collector’s Showcase!

I’ll take some pictures soon for the showcase. I have my 97% complete loose collection displayed but need to find space for the boxed items to photograph.I try not to think about what I’ve spent. I got alot from from a private collector a couple of weeks ago who I manage to catch before he listed it on ebay and pretty much agreed to pay what he wanted. I think I overpaid on the cats lair, but the tongue a saurus in perfect. The bargain of the box was the two shuttle guns carded for £25 for both (one unpunched)
My friend believe it or not, more or less, we’ve all fell into the trap of overpaying for the Thundercats Vintage Toys…

Lordore - I agree, and depending on the item, i am ok with paying a premium for it. I can tell you that i have gotten some great deals and some not so great, but as long as “on average” i am paying fair market value, i am good to go!
