How many monkian variants are there?

I have seen Monkian figures in which the brown color of the head and torso is either slightly lighter or slightly darker than the arms and legs. I don’t know if this is a true variation or color fading due to age.

These are the ones that I have. Never seen a LJN Monkian with two dark bands..

from the chain prospective i have on in black and gray color. missing the red one though.

I have never seen a carded example of a gray chain with Monkian, I´ve always thought the gray chain on loose Monkians is a misplaced Ma-Mutt chain. But if it indeed is a variant, I guess I’ll have to hunt that one down also.. The red chain is pretty hard to find and has eluded me for quite some time now :slight_smile:

i never thought red one was that rare since there were 3 of those on ebay this month i guess need to get one then :slight_smile:

Thanks for posting all the variations thunderianroyalguard. I didnt realize there were so many differences. I am hoping to get my hands on a Playful Monkian one of these days!

Just wanted to get some others opinions on my own Monkians. I believe that I have the ‘Pale’ version on the left and the ‘Normal’ version on the right. The middle one I am not quite sure on. It is not as dark as the ‘Dark’ version shown above, but it is a darker shade (sorry the pic doesnt show it very well). Would you say that this is just another shade of the ‘Normal’ or perhaps a lighter shade of the ‘Dark’?

I think that the middle one is a “Normal” one. The “Dark” version is quite dark and easy to identify. Also, as per thunderianroyalguard’s pic, the dark one has a light purple arm band and the middle one in your pic has a dark arm band, similar to the ones on its left and right. :slight_smile:

Ahhh yes, I totally forgot about comparing arm band. Sorry…

On a positive note, I get to keep my eyes out for a “dark” Monkian!
