How many episodes did Mumm-Ra appear in?

Hi, does anybody have a definitive list of the number of appearances for Mumm-Ra in the series?

Well, if you consider the opening credits…then it’s every single one LOL. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t have a definite number, but there are only a few I can think of that he wasn’t in. Exodus, and a couple of the last 20 episodes. But even in the final 20 episodes, Mumm-Ra was featured in most, even if it was only 20-30 seconds to send Ma-Mutt on a mission to sabotage another bad guy’s attempt to win over the Ancient Spirits…

My guesstimate would be that Mumm-Ra was in about 120-125 of the 130 episodes.

Hi, thanks MCSS, I think it would be considerably less than that. Many s1 adventures like Good and Ugly didn’t feature him. I’d guess at around the 100 mark. Would be good to know if anyone has ever kept track.

Mumm-Ra might have been the arch-nemesis but the episodes that he didn’t appear, were actually equally good and didn’t lack in quality of the adversaries at all. It’s quite noticeable the short presences of Mumm-Ra at a couple of episodes for very few minutes like in “Return to Thundera” or at the “Trial of Speed” even if he wasn’t the main opponent. So out of 130 episodes Mumm-Ra made his appearance in 85! In percentage this amounts to 65%

This is complicated further by that fact that, when Lion-O goes to the Pyramid and Luna and Amok attack him, Mumm-Ra’s sarcophagus flashes, and one of the man-beast statues bends down to release some sleep gas. Luna says, “Thanks, Mumm-Ra,” and WE HEAR MUMM-RA LAUGHING from inside the sarcophagus.

So, while he may only appear in one of Vultureman’s psycho-electric images, we do hear him in the reality of the episode, and he plays a part in the Lunatacks’ plan. I feel like that counts.

We never see Mumm-Ra springing into action though, the Beast statue which holds Lion-o’s arm down and released the gas acted on its own, also the laughter you mentioned i thought it came from Amok when he stepped on the Sword of Omens. Besides it was very short and snarly. Still, it is true that Mumm-Ra more or less interfered in beating Lion-o while being inside his sarcophagus but we don’t see him coming out or appearing at all. I don’t know if this one counts or not :confused:
