HMV and Amazon.co.uk affiliates

I signed us up for both the HMV and Amazon.co.uk affiliates programs this past week and already given all the coding to Manny. The link for the S1V1 UK DVD at Amazon.co.uk is already up on the front page

I’m thinking the more revenue we can get from advertising the DVD’s the better to pay all the hosting costs and perhaps anything left over can pay for prizes/giveaways

So if you do any shopping at hmv.co.uk or amazon.co.uk try to use those links. I will be! :cheetaraveryhappy:

Chris here…

I rarely shop with HMV, but shop with Amazon a heck of a lot! Does the affiliate thing work if I click on an Amazon or HMV link on the front page of this site and then head off to buy a different product, i.e. if I click on the link to the S1V1 DVD set and then navigate to elsewhere in the site and buy a book or something?

I think what I’m basically asking in a complicated way is - do I actually have to buy the product linked to for the affiliate program to work? This was what I always thought - if I’m wrong, I could have been helping out a lot of people’s sites over the years!

Take care…

You could have indeed Chris! lol

So long as you click the link and do not delete cookies/cache or leave the Amazon website, anything you order (anything at all from a CD single right up to a DVD player) will give us commission from that sale upon it’s dispatch. I’ve already kick started our revenue by ordering those Ducktales and Chip n Dale DVD sets from Amazon via the link

and you will be pleased to know we have received the commission for the Chip n Dale set! It’s only something like 36 pence, but hopefully within time we will get up to the minimum amount of £10 for it to be sent to my bank account. Of course each month I’ll send MannyF statments from the programs so he knows how well we are doing.

So yep, no matter what you order via the link, we will still get commission from the sale.
