Theres locked thread postings with product placement adverts, long lists of rules, of which some remind me of being back at school and Hollywood Heroes openly saying theyre helping out TCL in order to profit from their auctions When it was originally said that in no way did TCL affiliate themselves with HH and the auctions they were holding. Has this place just beome a huge dicatated, censored sell out of a stale forum?
P.S another thing is how can BBTS.com charge an extra $2 to ‘upgrade’ to a C9 figure? Because what if 90% of orders request this option? are they ALL going to be perfect

Hollywood Heroes is a paid advertiser on the site. Much like Big Bad Toy Store, we will be putting up banner ads. Our payment is monthly… and we are honored and very appreciative to be part of this community.
I am not familiar with the other rules to members, but I was informed that as a paying advertiser I would be able to promote the auction and other finds in the community.
As this topic has nothing to do specifically with the 2011 Collectibles and Merchandise, I moved it to the General Discussion.
Now, back on topic. Running a website costs money. There’s domain registration, server space, software upgrades, etc. Money doesn’t grow on trees, and this site has not requested our users to pay to keep it running. So where does the money come from? From companies that pay to advertise here. If you note, the only advertisers who get threads about them are ones who have ThunderCats related stuff like BBTS and HH.
Now, if you’d like to offer to pay all costs for this site so there’s no ads, please consult one of the admins in a PM.
At the point in time when Hollywood Heroes first began releasing information and announced the sale/auction of the Prototypes collection, ThunderCatsLair was in no way associated or affiliated with Hollywood Heroes or anyone else for that matter.
However situations change and as the cost of running such a site mounts up, then is the time for us to explore ways of funding the site. We will never ask our members to fund this site, so affiliating with companies who are of interest to users of this forum is the best way.
Since Big Bad Toy Store partnered up with us, Hollywood Heroes also agreed to take ad space, which is when the our association with Hollywood Heroes changed. Once we have the ad up for Hollywood Heroes, I will post a thread (similar to the ones placed about BBTS)
It’s true ThunderCatsLair is a non profit site. All revenue goes into content and running costs of the site.
Our rules are quite short compared to other forums of a similar nature…but we don’t force folks to agree with them and they are welcome to post elsewhere.
As for questions on BBTS product, please direct those at BBTS and I’m sure they will be happy to help.
My moderators took this thread down for the right reasons, but to remain transparent and to put the record straight, so everyone knows the details on our partnerships and why we have entered into them this thread shall remain up.
However if anyone has any questions or comments about the running of ThunderCatsLair, I suggest pm’ing me instead of causing a public disturbance on the forum, just to get a reaction.
and let this be a warning that anyone making false accusations about BBTS, HollyWood Heroes and ThunderCatsLair.org itself, will be deemed a trouble causer and will be outright banned.
