Hidden Thundercat insignias/ Easter Eggs

That’s a really good point. If an animator is going to go to the trouble of sneaking it into a single frame, he would probably make it a bit more obvious. Maybe not 100%, in case he didn’t want to get caught, but more recognizable, at least.

That said, it’s still fun to consider. #grilledcheesus

I found another one! In “The Mask of Gorgon”, there’s a momentary transition between Mumm-Ra revealing Elfshima and Lynx-O waking up. It looks like a lightning bolt zapping across the screen, but if you look closely there’s a definite Cat symbol in the center. Here’s a GIF:

Excellent find! That was is most definitely evident when seen in slow motion.

Wow, I never noticed that…then again I have only seen that episode once…maybe twice.

Me too … very nice find!

Oddly enough I still haven’t got around to watching that episode LOL.

That’s awesome!!

And, to me, “Mask of Gorgon” is one of the best episodes not from the first season. Check it out, Mark M.!

Excellent!

Found another one! In “The Ghost Warrior”, as the Sword of Omens exiles (?) Grune’s ghost, there’s a single frame at the end of the sequence that features a Cat symbol:

It’s part of a special effects shot, so the over-exposure of the effect does bleed a fair amount over the left side of the symbol, but it’s there! Now, it is possible that it’s intended to be the actual Eye of Thundera glowing white—it’s placement does line up with where Grune was holding the Sword. Still, though, I think its appearance in only one frame qualifies it as an easter egg. What say all of you?

I agree. I spotted it right away during “The Ghost Warrior.”

And I think I’ve found yet another. In “The Astral Prison”, when Lion-O returns to Third Earth, he uses the Sword to fire on Vultureman, and a Cat symbol appears in the volley in two sequential shots:

Thinking about it, I feel like this style of Sword-volley-as-cat-symbol might be pretty common.

Yeah, that was a pretty epic scene while Lion-O was an astral giant briefly.

Nice finds! It’s always fun to discover these little details.

We can even see a couple cat-symbol frames from that red energy beam in the ThunderCats opening.
