I grew up on the Thundercats in the 90s when reruns of popular 80s cartoons was more common (I can’t believe how many kids don’t know what a Smurf is these days). I still love it to this day.
I’m in my twenties but never grew out of cartoons and frequently come to work with a new toy–Just the other day I took some toilet paper and wrapped it around our Bob (a human shaped punching bag) and put a skull mask on it. Then I pretended he was Mumm-Ra and had an imaginary fight with him using my Sword of Omens. I even did the whole sword swinging part that Lion-O does in the show while he’s doing the 'Thunder, Thunder, Thunder…Thundercats HOOOO!" battle cry.
I spent 30 minutes the day before practicing so I’d be good enough when I did it in front of my students and coworkers (I’m a martial arts instructor).
At heart I’m a bit of a romantic but I’m not a crazy shipper. Though I have to say, when I first started watching the show when I was 7/8 I thought two characters standing next to each other a lot meant they liked each other, which was one of the reasons I thought Tygra and Cheetara liked each other–now as an adult I know it doesn’t work like that, but I find it hilarious that in the new version they still stand next to each other a lot.
So yeah, I’m a major geek and it’s nice to meet all of you
