Hi everyone,
I’m Chris. I’m a 31-year old guy from Montana. I watched the original ThunderCats a lot as a kid, but honestly I wasn’t a hardcore fan as in knowing specific details about characters, settings, and story arcs. I did own a plastic Sword of Omens, though. 
A few weeks ago, I watched a handful of episodes in anticipation of the new series. I wanted to reacquaint myself with the characters and their world. Watching “Exodus” I was immediately reminded of how much I loved Lion-O as a kid – his look and his voice. My overall interest in the ThunderCats franchise was really reborn, and when my family asks what I want for Christmas this year, the Season 1 Part 1 DVD set is definitely going to be at the top of my list! 
My favorite cartoon of all time is Masters of the Universe, so I had really high hopes for the 2002 series. I loved the series and was absolutely furious at how Cartoon Network screwed with the scheduling, which led to poor ratings and consequently, to cancellation. So when I heard about CN’s new ThunderCats series, I thought “Oh no, they’re going to mess with another of my favorite '80s toons!”
I thought the premiere was outstanding and the second episode was very solid. I am already a huge fan of the new series. I can only hope that the network learned their lesson with He-Man, and will keep ThunderCats in a fixed time slot on the same day each week. They seem to be on-the-ball with promoting the series, which is a great sign. One thing that this show has as a BIG advantage over ‘02 MOTU is, there is no greedy toy company using the show to sell their action figures, so there is no vibe of “sell toys or else.” Mattel really doomed Mike Young Productions’ He-Man in that respect.
Anyway, I’m glad to be here and I hope to meet some great people on these boards!
