They said their spring line had rolled out. The spring line is that small amount of Wave 2 that made it on to the shelves before the show came back from hiatus with ep 14. Nothing else has shipped as is evident by what everyone is seeing across the US.
There is evidence that those last shipments were a bit disorganized as well as both myself and another forum member at .WS found Tyger Flyers at Toys R Us. The Tyger Flyer isn’t even in the system at TRU (meaning no TRU in the US has ordered any Wave 2 from Bandai) and both of us had issues getting the store to sell them to us. In my case they agreed to scan the UPC for a Lizard Cannon in order to sell it to me.
Right now they will be solely focused on the international line. What happens after that remains to be seen. In all honesty it could very well have been WB that pulled the plug on Bandai continuing to ship out product.
Okay, I don’t know a lot about this, but everyone who is looking in TRU seems to have trouble finding wave 2 figures or even wave 1 figures in stock while I have had no problem finding some at my Wal Mart and at a nearby Target. It’s starting to seem as if TRU is the problem. I think crappy shipping is a big problem but the common denominator for these claims is that store. Or I’m just lucky.
Apart from 6 inch Tygra and 4 inch slithe and mumra storm charger plenty of wave 2 stuff have been available on amazon.com and for few months now. Walmart online does not even have full wave 1 stuff. But wave 2 80% of the figures have been available at amazon for a while now.
Today I went to The Entertainer. The ThunderCats stands are gone and no sign of ThunderCats in the entire store… until I found the 4" figures on clearance along with Smurfs the Movie figures, all for £4
I think someone asked Bandai UK via Twitter and they said the UK would get wave 2 in the autumn. Guessing episodes 14-26 should air around the same time probably.
I would completely understand now if they had been witholding figures until this point. Today’s episode would have been completely spoiled if they had released any of the vehicles or the new “OS villain” character as figures. Definitely worth it if that was their intention. If that was not their intention, well then I’m bummed but I still hope we get something new in the next couple months.
The clearancing sounds about right, as the autumn range could hit stores as early as July/August, which would fit with the school holidays. If they have any sense they would air the new (as well as previous 13 episodes) constantly during the holidays to maximise the shows exposure to kids.
I’ve learned that with toy releases, just because it says Autumn, doesn’t mean it will hit stores on 22nd September exactly. We likely would see an ‘autumn’ rang a month or so before that I think.
If i ever find Thundercats toys in the local toystores and finally manage to buy them off the shelves, i am throwing a party!! You are all invited:cool:
