Hi gang,

Just to say that, according to the forums, today is the 4th Anniversary of the official launch of ThunderCats Lair - unbelievable but true! :slight_smile:

In that time, we may have had our ups and downs, but I think weā€™ve really worked well together to create something to be really proud of, and something that the Internet and ThunderCats fandom was really lacking - a professional-quality ThunderCats site. (But donā€™t tell my friend Angie - Purrsia - that I said that!!) :wink:

Just for fun, I thought Iā€™d list what I consider to be the siteā€™s biggest achievements to date (in no particular order):

Put together the first truly comprehensive LJN toy guide on the Internet (second only to Neilā€™s original Geocities site)

Presented the first ever fan interviews with Peter Newman, Lynne Lipton, Earle Hyman and Gerrianne Raphael - in the case of Earle, we secured an interview that WB couldnā€™t get!

Put together an amazing Encyclopedia, featuring the artwork of the legendary Kyle Lambert!

Been the first for breaking news on the (now shelved) ThunderCats movie

Been the first for news from Hard Hero

Set up the worldā€™s first ThunderCats podcast

Created the best TCats Animation Art Gallery on the Internet

Created the first-ever TCats Original Comic Art Gallery

Whilst obviously we have tons of content still to add to the site, I think the above makes for a very impressive portfolio and is the reason why I believe we are now the leading ThunderCats site on the Internet. :thumbsup:

Iā€™m seriously looking forward to 2010 when I very much hope that MannyFā€™s plans for ā€œThunderCats Lair 3.0ā€ will come to fruition - it promises to be a very exciting time! :thumbsup:

Nice list Chris, a very laudable set of achievements for sure. Iā€™d add a few:

The best Team based site to REALLY work in T-Cat fandom

The biggest and most active forum community

The top ranked T-Cat fan site on google (minus a dead site that holds its higher status because of cash paid to google many years ago)

The best fan collectors galleries via our forum community

The best designed site for T-Cats on the net (though I think you covered that under professional site re: Purrsia)

Managed to overcome our initial reputation for snobbery among other webmasters and uber-fans, weā€™re now very well regarded by the community

Managed to have a bunch of laughs along the way

I think one of the best achievements, if not the best that we have accomplished is managing to stay together and hang with each other regardless of personal lives or commitments. Yes, we havent added much to the site in a long while but our presence in the forums and interacting with everyone is very important. Im glad to be part of the team, even though my participation has been extremely limited. I guess in the end it was worth it at first to put in long hours building up so now we can kind of take a back seat and admire thew awesome work.

I think our hard work has paid off, and I would not be surprised if there is any movie or actual toyline developed weā€™d be the first to break the news. There is people in high places looking at the website, and having first news from the statues is big in itself.

Great job guys and we should be proud of what we accomplished so far.

Think aboutā€¦just type Thundercats on Google and not even WBs page on Thundercats comes up. We are #2 currently, with the Thundercats Wiki page being #1
