has anyone ever noticed that Hammerhand has 3 different looks. I was watching spitting image tonight and there was another form of Hammerhand that I did not remember seeing. this one he was dead and lived in a watery grave and Mummra called him out of it to go into the clone of Panthro. That means that there are 3 versions of Hammerhand and 4 if you want to count the Panthro clone. It’s cool seeing the different ideas behind him before they settled for what they wanted him to look like. So heres my question which version is your fav. The dead ghost version, the toy version or the version with the silver hand that looks more like regular hand I guess I will even throw in the clone panthro version. Mine would be the one with the silver hand (he looks better I thinnk and not all mechanical, I wish they made a figure of this version insead of the one that LJN produced.

Hi Matt, Great observation.. I love Hammerhand as a character and also noticed these variations. I have noticed many myself:
The original version
This Hammerhand was my least favourite I have to say. He has a white beard, red hat with horns and material at the back, completely silver mechanical left arm, red pants etc… The rest of the crew sport these muted colours. We also see a few crew members not present in later Bezerker appearences.
Updated Version
This is my favourite version. I always associate this version with the Thundercats Ho series. He has a gray beard, a yellow hat with one yellow horn and one red horn, a grey and yellow mecanical arm (which is now on his right arm:scratching:), yellow pants and other black accessories.
Other Versions
I am not as familiar with the later versions that you mentioned matt, I am aware of the ghost hammerhand that mumm-ra uses as a sacrafice to produce an evil clone of Panthro. I also know of a later variation in the series (not sure which episode) where certain sections on hammerhand and the other bezerkers are (for no reason at all) changed to red..
I will look into these variations as I delve through the series but in my opinion I think that LJN produced a ver cool looking version of hammerhand. Possibly the hand could have been silver but we all know what silver paint means on Thundercat Toys.. Easy Wear!!

I have a suspicion that the reason Hammerhand was resurrected and resdesigned for “ThunderCats Ho!” was because of LJN either needing a new subline of figures for the ThunderCats toyline, or just because someone decided that the Beserkers would make a cool bunch of toys! 
IMO, there’s no way that Hammerhand as he is seen originally was designed with an action figure in mind, he was just another guest villain along the lines of the Demolisher, etc. However, conceptually having a villain with a huge metal hand is such a great concept for an action figure, I’m sure that someone at LJN must have seen that episode and thought “Aha!”
Are we talking about the season 2 episode where the Beserkers coat themselves in Thundrainium in order to defeat the ThunderCats? If so, the episode is “Together We Stand”, and the reason for the red colour is because those are the areas of the Beserkers’ armour that has been coated with the Thundrainium.

That would make sense Chris.. Good observation..
I think the Berzerkers were definitely brought back with the toyline in mind, but they could have at lease addresses the resurrection, just have Mumm-Ra officially resurrect him and hand him a bionic set of new Berzerkers to replace his old crew
