i was sitting around thinking about grune, he was presumably killed in the last episode, but in the original series, which grune only appeared in a few episodes, he was a ghost. does anybody else think that we havent seen the last of grune, and that in some way or another he will return?:liono

I get the feeling the ghost thing was the reason to kill him off.
But Jaga has only appeared as a ghost inside the Book of Omens. If Grune becomes a ghost and remains a prominent character, Jaga should as well.
Once I found out about the ghost thing, I thought the same.
you know this might be a story arc, the cats dont 
know that jaga has been captured, and he might reach out to cheetara, through telepathy, which will be a great way to intorduce her unknown power, much like the original, and then the cats some how free jaga from mumm-ra’s grip, and he becomes a ghostly mentor, much like the original. see what i did there, this is my prediction!

I believe we are definitely going to be seeing Grune again in ghost form. Especially after seeing his figure the label reads Grune The Warrior. In the os, the first appearance of Grune was in an episode called “The Ghost Warrior”. So its only a matter of time before he is somehow freed or escapes from the astral plane.
I don’t necessarily think he’ll be a ghost. The astral plane wasn’t destroyed so he most likely didn’t die.
What I think is he’ll find some way to astral project or enter dreams or something like that.

the astral plane collapsed, mumm-ra got out, grune and panthro’s arms got suck in, it looked like it was becoming unstable and collapseing after lion-o obsrbed the stone with his claw sheild, atleast, thats how isaw it, where did they say that the astral plane wasnt destroyed? not trying to argue, just trying to find out what led you to say it wasnt destroyed? im gonna watch it again, maybe i missed it?
It seemed pretty clear to me, as well, that the Astral Plane was collapsing when Grune was sucked into it. I believe he is indeed dead.

where is this link, and who got the confirmation, and credible is there source? ive searched this forum and im unable to find anything other than a soundbytes blog, explaining how the did the sund for it i believe? and just before grune got sucked in, he says to panthro pull me in before WE BOTH DIE. and the fear on his face as he was fadeing away or dissolveing says he was faceing death, and if it did just collapse, and end up just an open space, where things just float around, how long do you think he can survive with no way of walking around or a way out? then theres the whole defeat of your enemy thing. and, if it was not being destroyed, or if the doorway wasnt being destroyed, why were they in such a hurry to leave? i mean, so the ground collapsed, the door could stay open, and the tank or lion-o’s claw could shoot a grappling line for them to grab on to, to pull them out? :liono

I haven’t seen any confirmation that Grune will be back however.
ok cool and thanks balgus, it wasnt destroyed, but it did collapse. and it did so because the stone was removed, they still had a sense of urgency to get out, and earlier, when grune and slithe were talking about whether they should attack or not, slithe was hesitent to attack saying that they could accidentaly destroy the doorway trapping mumm-ra inside forever. im still convinced grune will return as a ghost, or a spirit of some sort, and that jaga will continue his familiar role as a spirit guide to the thundercats and lion-o, or at the least cheetara. i could definatly understand how the astrl plane wasnt destroyed, or that maybe it cant be destroyed, be cause its everlasting, like space. very cool possibilities for the the next season for sure, i cant wait! i agree wth most, i want grune’s ghost and jaga’s spirit, im not a hard core old schooler, but there are great elements of the old show that should be kept, and so far im not disapointed. i also was a casual fan of thundercats, iliked them, but i didnt collect the toys, and i only owned a few in my childhood. i became a fan, an official new schooler, because of the new show, and of course, the new toys. i do waish they would have made mumm-ra’s true form, or his everliving form, a little more creepy, thats why i liked the old show, the villains, and panthro. but nonthe less i love it, and i do enjoy watching the os show too!
