Game: ThunderCat Trivia

No, I’m guilty of doing of doing the same thing with my Warrior Maiden one. ::blushes::

Come on LO! It’s been almost a month

LOL sorry I lost track of who won the last one. I’ll have something posted by tomorrow at the latest.

What are the 14 Treasures of Thundera? Bonus points for naming the episodes they were first seen in.

Tygra_Rules asked this question back in November, though my answer at the time only mentioned 13 treasures… Which one did I forget!!!

Guess I got here late :frowning:

I’m sorry. I realize now how much you were looking forward to Lady Ocelli’s question. But would you really have wanted to answer a question that you yourself posed less than two months ago? Let her post another one, and I’ll steer clear.

Lol no, don’t worry. It’s your turn, you won it clean. I was just looking for another question because the thread was inactive for a long time and the game is fun to me

The Keystone was the 14th, according to my source at Cheezey’s site.

LOL I should have realized someone had posted that one before.

Zax let’s keep the fun rolling along.

My answer to the next trivia question is: Red.

Oh, interesting! I wouldn’t have thought of the Keystone. I always considered it something native to Third Earth.

Okay, next question, then?

In what three episodes is The Vortex featured, and who gets caught in it in each instance? This one may be a bit tricky depending on what you consider canon… I’ll settle for two episodes if no one gets the third one.

One just popped in my head and I’ll have to sleep on the other 2.

The kittens got trapped in it in the episode where Vultureman used a device he created that when he spoke into it, he could make himself sound like any of the ThunderCats. So he tricked the kittens into thinking one of the other ThunderCats was in trouble there and they got sucked in.

Lion-O also got trapped in it in The Trial of Strength.

I don’t think the Keystone was part of the treasure as it was in Third Earth, but I might be wrong; gotta watch the epsiode again.

These two are correct, though the name of the first episode you mention, as well as the third episode to feature the Vortex, are still up for grabs. Put another way, this is where we’re at so far, bold items up for grabs:

  1. Kittens in “episode featuring Vultureman’s voice imitator”
  2. Lion-O in “Trial of Strength”
  3. ???

Any takers? Here’s a hint for number 3:

I could argue that you did not specify to name the episodes. You merely asked in what episodes the vortex could be found and I told you what the episode was by saying what the episode was about. Your exact words, “In what three episodes is The Vortex featured, and who gets caught in it in each instance?”

So… I could argue that your question does not require the title if the answer of what episode is described in what occurred in it. You should have worded your question, “Name the three episodes…”

However, I do believe the episode was titled “Divide and Conquer.”

As for your third, I have no idea. Was it in season 1 or 2?

The one where the kittens got trapped in the vortex is “Divide and Conquer”. The 3rd one I don’t remember.

CoT, I really think that by asking “in what episodes”, it means to give the eps’s title, but that’s just me

Sure, he made it obvious that’s what he meant when he responded to my answer. But it was not clearly stated in the original quesiton and because of that, I didn’t make the extra effort to look up the actual title name. I knew what the episode was about though.

Anyhoo… I already guessed Divide and Conquer.

Congratulations, so you did.

You know, this is one of those cases where careful placement of smilies isn’t going to save you. Every single trivia question in this thread that has asked for an episode has expected the name of that episode in the answer. Did you identify the episode? Sure. Notably, you also named the second episode! I saw that as an opportunity to give other people a chance to answer the question more fully. In the future, for your literalist sake, I will be more thoughtful in my choice of verbs. And since no one’s getting the third one, you win.

If anyone’s interested, the third episode is “Lord of the Snows”. While The Vortex isn’t named in the episode, and while the location appears different from in later episodes, other published treatments of the episode (e.g. the Choose Your Own Adventure book) refer to it as The Vortex. This is because, in the original map of Third Earth, right next to Hook Mountain, we find the Home of the Vortex. Note that it’s also near the Beach of the Crabmen, just as we would expect, given where Lion-O encounters it in “The Trial of Strength”:

Pretty cool, huh? Your turn, CoT.

In the 1989 annual, the Vortex transports Lion-O and Cheetara back in time. In this, it’s a living, intelligent creature, which I don’t think was the case in the show.

That was tricky Zaxx! Good one!

I was about to say “Lord of the Snows” as I remembered something like the vortex on it, but it was a white, snow-covered mountain, while the vortex we know is a brown, rocky mountain.

Also, who would imagine snowlands next to a beach? lol
