Fun with the Tcats - Part Two

I would’ve rather just posted this in the previous thread, but I am unable to change the topic of the last thread to show an update, so…here’s another thread.

The second of my ‘Having Fun with the the Tcats’ series - Pumyra’s turn. Poor, poor Pumyra…just when she finally gets some undivided attention, it’s the sort no self respecting woman would ever want.

Feel sorry for her? Or wisgh you wree in the crowd? XD

And, in case she was misse din the previous post - the colored version of irate Cheetara.

Enjoy and constructive critisism welcomed.

Thumbs up to both! Now if I could finish my own latest TC artwork…!

looks kinda risque but it still well drawn nice job

::looks kinda risque ::

True, but then again.. Pumyra isn’t exactly being shown in a typical Tcat fandom pose. ::blah:: Cookie cutter images and poses can get so boring.

Give me my favorite puma in something that has a little flavor to it. Heh, besides, I’ve seen far.. far.. far… really far worse.

Thanks for the compliment on the artwork, but I wonder - what do you mean that it looks risque? Can you specify exactly what you mean by this?

I mean, true - Pumyra is obviously out of her uniform, but she’s hardly exposed. Compared to some fanarts I’ve seen of her and other female Tcats depicted in (hell, any fanarts of many cartoons out there), this is actually quite tame in comparison.

these are nicely drawn but I must say I’m not a fan of having the women depicted this way.

Care to enlighten me by being a little more specific? What about the way that these ladies are drawn bothers you so?

I do prefer constructive critisism, so if there’s something about the image that bothers you, please - do not be shy in letting me know.

Well to me I think it detracts from their personalities portrayed in the show. I feel like they are drawn too much to be sex objects and yet their captions are trying to say the opposite. I guess that’s just not how I view a children cartoon character acting I guess. For instance, I really like the Cheetara but I don?t really like the caption - I think it would be ten times better without it. Maybe it?s just because I?m a girl and I never had any crushes on them or any cartoon characters for that matter. Sorry if that offended you, just my opinion and you asked! Look forward to your future drawings!

Hence why the images are referred to as ‘Fun with the Thundercats’. I’m not trying to capture their essence/personalities within the pieces I make, just their likeness and my viewpoint on how they would react in certain situations.

And I take no offense if my images are not to your liking - that is your opinion and I totally accept the fact that my artwork will not be everyone’s cup of tea (I’m female myself and respect these characters. I would hardly think the way I drew them were as sex objects in these cases - far from it - actually; if I did, they’d be shown in a much more provocative way).

Though, I must ask - have you seen the way that the girls were portrayed in the Wildstorm comics? Now those were prime examples of turning these strong female characters into sex objects - very, very shameful depictions (especially in Wilykit’s case…I still shudder in disgust at the mental image of her future self in ‘The Return’). If you’ve been spared those cases, count yourself lucky.

Nope and I don’t want to  Not a comic fan..Only comic book I ever read was Bluntman and Chronic haha.

Love your rendition of Cheetara.

Me too. I wouldn’t mind if Cheetara had a similar look to that in a new Thundercats cartoon series.

You have some excellent work Mitts…Cheetara is awesome, IMO it holds very close to the design of the original but yet theres something that makes it modern without loosing its original appeal

Howdy

Awesome, pics, the rendition of Cheetara as stated above is the best one. I also love her comment, very funny

I chuckled at the Pumyra one. The Cheetara one had me half falling off the seat here, so that gets the vote as my favorite. Funny stuff and nice work!
