I’m thinking the forums rules need an update as there is nothing on bootlegs or reproductions in there!
The thread on the repro stickers got me thinking about this and I think it’s very important we add something about this.

I thought there was but if not I dont have any problems with it being updated. The last thing we need is people trading bootlegs or repros out in the public
Yeah I thought there was something in there about bootlegs as well. We definitely need to update it if there isn’t anything there.
ok I’ll look into coming up with a new set of rules as I’ll use those over on he-man.org for a reference guide! ![]()
New Forum Rules
Ok guys, here’s the new set of rules I’ve come up with and I think they cover everything. Can everyone read through them and let me know if they are ok? I’d prefer it if every team member commented so we know everyone is 100% happy with these. Changes can be made if required ![]()
Thanks
Neil

Thank you for reading these updated forum rules. We at ThundercatsLair.org are not too keen on rules ourselves so these will be kept short and to the point. I assure everyone that there is nothing overtly strict here!
General
-Please be polite and courteous in your posts and do not insult other people. We are a very friendly bunch and like to keep it that way. Sometimes new people to the forum do make mistakes, so please refrain from jumping on them and finger pointing.
-Please make sure you post your thread (s) in the correct forum.
-Avoid back to back posting. The only exceptions to back to back posts is in the Fan Fic and Fan Art forums and if your replying to a thread 24 hours after your previous post.
-If you have any problems please pm a moderator or admin who will be happy to help you.

Post Contents
-We are not prudes here, but we believe there is a time and a place for adult content (whether that be strong language, nudity or violence) and a cartoon forum isn’t the place for it. We do not tolerate any indecent content of any kind on the forum. Basically if it wouldn’t have happened or been said in the Thundercats cartoon, then it doesn’t belong on the forum.
-Please be careful of posting links or content from outside sources such as links to other sites, YouTube videos and myspace pages. A lot of these contain content that isn’t allowed on this site. Please preview anything you want to share with others before posting, to make sure it doesn’t break any of the forum rules.
-Please do not offer or link to any illegal bootlegged content of any kind at all. This includes VHS Videos, DVD’s, VCD’s, CD’s or cassettes. It also extends to photocopied comics, annuals, novels or reproduction pieces of any kind.
-We often discuss open and closed auctions on the toy forum. It’s perfectly ok to offer your opinion on how much something is worth and whether you think the auction closing bid is value for money. However we do not tolerate harrassment of sellers, such as calling them scalpers or scammers.
-Image size is not always something we are overly strict on, but please resize your images when you can so the forum flows better and we don’t end up with a threads width increasing dramatically. It makes browsing the threads more unpleasant for other users. As a guideline, try to make your images width no more than 500 pixels.
Marketplace Content
-ThundercatsLair.org is in no way responsible for any transactions that take part via our forums. Any trades done are stictly at your own risk.
-We do not directly intervene in any disputes. We will only ensure that the forum remains a pleasant place to visit for all our members and if we feel an individual is spoiling things for others in any way we will take action.
-Please do not offer or link to any illegal bootlegged content of any kind at all. This includes VHS Videos, DVD’s, VCD’s, CD’s or cassettes. It also extends to photocopied complete comics/annuals/novels or reproduction pieces of any kind. If you are referencing a particular page or image of a comic in your post etc.. then that IS allowed.
Marketplace Guidelines:
-Buyers: Make sure you ask for as much information as possible about an item. This includes the condition, pictures of item, shipping cost, payment methods accepted and if the seller has any kind of return policy. Also make sure you keep all email or private message correspondance to refer back to if need be.
-Sellers: We insist that all items traded through the forums should be sent by a tracked and insured mail service. If your a seller and you do not send an item by insured mail then it will be down to you to refund the buyer should the item not arrive. Insurance isn’t that much extra in many cases so there really isn’t any reason not to use it. Also make sure you keep all email or private message correspondance to refer back to if need be.
-In some cases a staff member of ThundercatsLair.org might act as a mediator to help solve any disputes. However this is totally down to the discretion of ThundercatsLair.org staff and depends on the situation at hand.
The Great Void:
This forum is designed to keep any political or controversial content under one roof. However this forum is not for posting extremely violent or explicit sexual content! If you think the thread will become heated then it belongs here.
The Great Void forum is an hidden forum and only those who request to have access will be able to view it. If you would like to be able to gain access to this forum, please send a PM to either Manny or Mannyscollectibles
The End
Sounds all good to me…and since Collectica will be starting their auction platform in the beginning of June we can get revenues from anybody that posts their auction over there. Instead of making it off the air they can be made over at Collectica with some of the auction proceeds coming to us. Sellers only pay a bare minimum of fees. Once it goes live we can recommend Collectica as a way to perform transactions that would otherwise happen in the Marketplace and with some risk involved by there not being proper documentation that an item was sold, etc. It will provide certain security for sellers as well as buyers knowing the partnership we have with Collectica.
Yeah that is something to discuss as we need to come up with some terms and conditions about collectica auctions when the time comes. We need to decide what kind of role we will play if any auction disputes arise involving members of this forum that have visited Collectica off the back of this site.
Looks good to me, Neil ![]()
Chris here…
Those look spot-on to me, Neil - I really like the reasonable tone you’ve used, and the way you’ve explained the reasons why certain rules are in place. Much, much, much better than the approach taken by a certain He-Man website!
I love it! ![]()
Take care… ![]()
nice job neil
Thanks everyone so far for your feedback. Glad it’s good to go at the moment.
However, could Manny, Kyle, Mark and Martin also please give me a yay or nay?
I think it would be a very good idea to get these new rules up immediatly. To start with, we don’t need another repeat of the Jaga v.s Adam Smith chaos ![]()
It sounds good Neil. ![]()
Two thumbs up Neil
Just thought I’d stick this back up for reference about the forum rules. It’s just to avoid any confusion about what is and isn’t allowed on the forums. If anyone is unhappy with anything in the rules and they need amending please post your concerns here!
It’s possible to change anything no problem. I’d prefer us to have a set of rules everyone feels comfortable and happy with.
The main reason for me doing this is because we had some confusion on reproduction stickers for the Cats Lair and to avoid similiar problems happening again, it would be cool to clarify things here.
I dont really think that there needs to be any updates to the forum rules. I had deleted the members post about replica stickers and then allowed him to keep his 2nd post due to the fact that he never mentioned replica in his 2nd post (although I knew he was offering them). Basically he just offered to people that needed help with bad stickers to contact him for help with it. Technically he was not in the wrong by offering his help his help if anybody needed Cat" Lair stickers. Oh well its been taken care of.
One thing though that we should definitely do is assign someone as the marketplace moderator for things like this. We have Neil who has Super Moderator status therefor able to deal with these issues but I think we should have someone strictly for overlooking the Marketplace. It keeps us from stepping on each other on issues like this and it lets people know who they can contact with any issues. I dont want to refer to how he-man.org handles things but they have certain people assigned to different areas and it seems to work out pretty well. I really dont think the Super Moderators get in the way of the Marketplace moderators if you know what i mean. If anybody would like to take the role of marketplace moderator it would be welcomed and i think it should be someone other than Neil (nothing against you buddy, just trying to spread out responsibilities :))
Oh maybe one thing that may or may not need update and that is discussing P2P ( Peer to Peer) sites and such.
Good point! I’ll add something about it tomorrow.
i can volunteer for the marketplace monitor. What exactly do I have to do. If I have to delete posts or whatever I dont have that ability
I actually had you in mind Matt and being that there is nobody as a mod for the Marketplace area then we can definitely place you. Basically just make sure posts are within forum rules and move any posts as necessary. If there is any doubts you can contact Neil and he can help out as well. By the time you see this message you should have Marketplace moderator status
