I’ve got a request from a forum member to be added to the list who can view The Great Void forum. Is this forum up and running or is it still being sorted out?
Another 2 problems mentioned were:
Smilies
People are having trouble using them as they are not displaying in their messages.
I actually tried using the (punch smilie myself, and it’s displaying the tongue smilie instead for some reason?
Avatars
People are also unable to upload their own avatar in the User CP panel.

Following what Neil just said, I also received this PM from my friend and fellow Board member shigsy2003, who said:
“I am having some trouble with my profile. I know you guys are working on the site but I cannot upload an avatar? It has ‘Do not use avatar’ selected and there are no boxes to upload one :(”
What would you guys like me to say to him about this? I don’t want to “put my foot in it” and tell him something I shouldn’t, or state that something will/won’t be rectified without checking my info first.
Lastly, please can you guys LMK whether it will be possible for images in signatures to be restored or whether this is gone for good? I miss the signature that Kyle created for me, and obviously if it’s not going to show up would like to change the signature I have currently as obviously just a Photobucket link with tags around it looks awful!
Ok this can be the official ‘Problem spots thread’ for the new forum..
Here is a few I have found in the past day..
1. Some links are invisible - in particular on the user profiles, when you try to click to send a user a PM the link is there…but you can’t see it
2. Message Icons - This may be hard to resolve but some of the icons for the posts that have been re-added are in the place of the old ones.. to understand what I mean go to the Introduce yourself forum and you will see that the post icons for some of the threads are **** ratings. These icons were not used originally.
What is happening is that the threads posted previously link to certain image names for their icons. Some of the new icons have different names. Therefore the some threads have the incorrect icons showing.
As I said this may be hard to resolve as you would need to know the name of each icon before we moved to re-name them all again. This would make the correct icons show in th correct places. No sure it can be done, but I felt it would make sense to point it out and explain why it is happening.
3. Signature Images - Signatures are still not showing images (Chris’s in particular)

P.S Please check any posts you have done linking to catslair.net are changed if you want people to navigate to the links.. I had to change my encyclopedia links on the main boards
I think I will keep the ones that could be used most often and delete the rest.I may keep the Thundercats ones just because theyre cool looking
The cats symbols was an idea i had in mind for a while…Kyle made those and i put them in the forums..there will be more to come
Yeah the Thundercats ones are cool. I meant just get rid of the ones like duck, faint etc… ones that nobody uses and then send the most common up to the top whether they be standard smilies or Thundercat ones.
I absolutely adore the ThunderCats symbols, I think they’re fabulous! Great job, MannyC!
EDIT: Something that I have noticed is that there’s now a restriction on the number of smilies/images that anyone posting is allowed to use in a post - it seems the number allowed is four. Is there a reason for this? Over at the www.he-man.org forums, the limit on smilies/images is five per post, and I’ve actually always found this a little restrictive. Is the limit adjustable, and if so, what would you guys think about increasing the number slightly (maybe to something like 6 or 7)? What do you think?
That’s great, Manny - although, a few moments ago I just did a post with five smilies in it on the General Discussion Board, and I got the same message, that I’d added too many smilies and was only allowed a maximum number of four!
As a test, I just made the number of smilies in this post up to six, and was told I could only use four!
