Btw. I’m not sure to call Demolisher a “real villan” - wasn’t he just a guy who wanted to “test his strengh”? Didn’t he nearly change to the “good side” after his fight with Lion-O?
My faves are (in no order):
Captain Shiner and Ratar-O - both awesome in the movie.
Grune - never used enough 
Hammer Hand - NO NO NOOOOOOOOO!
I also liked Shadow Master’s treatment in the comics, and Two Time, just because of Panthro’s line after defeating him “Two down, none to go”

The Living Ooze - I dunno why I love it, but.. it was just evil ooze. It had such a unique voice, the growling angry “brrrrrrrrrr” voice that Bob McFadden provided. Sounded so delightful.

Safari Joe - Wasn’t pure evil, just hunted for sport. Was human and yet was one of the biggest threats to the ThunderCats ever. I also loved the “Big cats, Aqua cats, SKYYYY CATS… I’ve hunted them all!” line.

The Ancient Spirits of Evil - Earle Hyman sounded so deliciously evil in this role, especially saying “those [something evil] ThunderrrrrrrCATS”. I always got a kick out of listening to the ASOE - remorseless people. Sure, it turned MummRa into a pathetic slave, but.. Earle Hyman pulled it off wonderfully. And I always found their reasoning for decisions hilarious, especially when MummRa had the ThunderCats on the edge of defeat and they still screamed “YOU HAVE FAAAIIIILLLLEEEEDDD, MUMM-RA!” So unfair.

Grune the Destroyer - Probably one of the biggest threats to the ThunderCats ever. Made even better by the fact he was a ghost and a former ThunderCat which made it even better - the voice was perfect for the role. And his first two appearences were brilliant.

Mumm-Ra - Number one, for sure. The voice, the transformation.. as a kid, I was terrified of Mumm-Ra (who was actually my first word as I copied the transformation) but loved him at the same time. The rants he would go on, the magic, everything Mumm-Ra did was great. Even with Ma-Mutt and being turned into a slave, it was still entertaining stuff. Especially when Mumm-Ra would insult his dog as a form of love, “Come… my decrepit dog!” being one of them.
Add Slithe to that list, his evil voice and the “yesssssss?” he added at the end of his sentances.. Alluro, too, for that British accent and the snide to his voice… the whole ‘taking over minds’ part was an awesome addition, with the ever hilarious scene of the ThunderCats being posessed and saying “No hope, no chance” in the most depressing way ever. Captain Shiner as well…
Worst:
Demolisher - Eurgh. Horrible - defeating Mumm-Ra? Nearly beating Lion-O? Forget it. One off character that they threw into people’ faces. Not a fan.

Dropping off the list, but what would be close is queen tartara (crystal queen), Ratar-O, Jackelman (always my favourite mutant) and the Driller.

Nostalgia wins on this one - I have to go with Mumm-ra, followed by Slithe. I’m laughing every time he’s on screen, whether it’s because he’s riding b*tch on Jackalman’s nosediver or Mumm-ra’s making a complete idiot out of him. And I actually look forward to his yeeeeeeeeees? I’m a sucker for bad catch phrases.
Grune is another great character. He was one of my favorites as a kid, not just because of his great backstory and how well done his character design is, but because his toy was one of the biggest and heaviest in the Tcat’s line (he’s roughly Mumm-ra the Everliving’s size).
I’m a big fan of Chilla b/c I’ve always loved strong women. And I love Tugmug’s accent. He’s such a creep.
On the other hand I cannot tolerate Vultureman’s voice and Monkian’s “hoo-hoo” sound that he makes. They both send chills down my spine.

Hmm I like Monkian the best of all the Mutant bad guys. He really gave the Thundercats a run for their money in “Monkian’s Bargain” and showed that with the right angle and power the Mutants could definitely kick the fur off the 'Cats.
He’s also the cutest Mutant and I am sure he cleans up right nice. 
But my favorite villain out of all them has to be hands down Captain Shiner! He didn’t care what he had to do as long as the money was there!
But the thing I like most about him was that Shiner for all his greed and being the instrument of tyrrany of evil men he did at least have some appreciation of the concept of honor. I suppose its kind of like judging a man by the quality of his enemies thing. Shiner didn’t carry out his evil for joy per se it was just a happenstance of the job…for the most part.
I dare say that if the Thundercats’ pockets were a bit deeper I am sure Shiner would have made the Code his… well at least for the time being.
That would never happen though…the Thundercats expect you to be virtuous for free. :rolleyes:

yeah roar, I like Shiner for the same reasons. Especially with his noble standing on the deck while his ship fell apart around him. Yeah I know he didn’t actually die, but for that one moment and for his witty retort to Lion-o’s “the captain dosn’t have to go down with the ship”, he will forever be one of my all time favourite villians.

My two favourite villains would probably be Grune the Destroyer and Captain Shiner, both for the same reason - they broke out of the standard “I’m an evil villain with no motive apart from standard evil villainous stuff and so I’m going to fight you ThunderCats because I’m a villainous villain!” routine!
OK, Grune was a little bit like that - but, they actually gave him a real background and showed, for one of the only times in the series, a good character going bad. His existence gave a real credibility to the series, by showing that not all ThunderCats were whiter-than-white, but instead real people capable of becoming corrupted - somehow, Grune made our heroes seem more heroic!
As for Shiner, the mercenary angle made him an entertaining character, and then to show his honourable side at the end of the episode really added some depth. As such, even though “Sword in a Hole” does have some flaws, it actually remains one of my favourite episodes from the latter half of season 1!
My other favourite villain would be Mumm-Ra, simply because (unlike a lot of other 1980s cartoon villains) he was a character who could be genuinely scary and had a lot of menacing presence on screen. I feel they really neutered his character in the second season, but Mumm-Ra in 90% of season 1 - pure gold!

I don’t have a favorite villian. But if I had to rank them, it would be in this order:

Mumm-Ra. He never wins, but he never gives up.
And I agree, Chris, the writers made him a shadow of his former self in Season Two. -
Grune the Destroyer. The renegade Thunderian who can give the Cats a run for their money.

The Inflamer. He’s truly dangerous because he’s unpredictable.

Mongor. He looks exactly like the garlanded black goat (aka the Devil) in Francisco de Goya’s 1798 painting “The Witches’ Sabbath”; it would be no surprise if that’s where the character designers got the idea for Mongor. The Grim Reaper’s sickle that Mongor holds adds to his genuinely scary appearance.

Two-Time from the five-part “Return to Thundera” story. This evil robot with a head at each end of his two-legged torso enslaved the Thunderian farmer Torr and his family inside the DomeDown space ship.
Honorable Mention: Slithe, for his cold-bloodedness and slightly Godzilla-like appearance.
actually i disagree they made mummra much more dangerous in season 2 than season 1, but it wasnt until mummutts confusion where he was really turned into more of a comic relief then he was once

Yeah, technically you’re correct - I think the great shame about season 2 is that they actually started it off by making Mumm-Ra more dangerous and more powerful, by taking away his reflection phobia, by giving him the Sword of Plun-Darr, and by turning him at times into, like, “Super Mumm-Ra”! But, at the same time, somehow the writers made him less threatening and less credible as a character, which happened in sync with the more comedic turn that the series took towards the end…
From a Mumm-Ra perspective, the biggest plus point for season 2 is that it gave us the episode “The Last Day” - arguably Mumm-Ra’s scariest performance since his debut in “The Unholy Alliance”!

I didn’t mind ‘Season II’ Mumm-Ra just because the voice actor who played him, Earl Hammond, was absolutely brillliant and could pull it off. You were still entertained, one way or another. Some of the episodes were stupid, don’t get me wrong.. and the comedic, pathetic Mumm-Ra getting bossed about by the Ancient Spirits of Evil was annoying (even though I do like the ASoE, they don’t compare to Mumm-Ra and even sticking them with a voice like Earle Hyman’s doesn’t make up for that). But it wasn’t too bad, Season II Mumm-Ra.
Even with a dog, Mumm-Ra was still evil.
Like I’ve said before, the end of that show should have been ‘the last day’, for season 2 it was a true high point.
Though that said, I rather like Pyron in the final episode. I really think they could have done more with the ASoE avatar.
