Suppose the Eye of Thundera is removed from the Sword of Omens and placed in the hilt of another weapon. What do you think would happen?

Actually, given how much emphasis is placed on the power of the eye, I’d image the actual housing is little more than a secondary concern.
Of course, a sword by itself is at least a far more menacing weapon than a toilet plunger.

On a gun I would think unlimited ammo and instead of sight beyond sight it would be like a ultra magnifying sight piece for perfect shooting.

In a way, this thread is supposed to coincide with the “Your fave Thundercats Weapon?” thread, e.g. the Eye of Thundera gives the Sword of Omens Sight-Beyond-Sight; what power do you suppose it will grant the whip of Tygra?

I didnt think that the eye could be removed and put in another blade/weapon. If that was the case why did the sword lose its power when the blade is broken? Why wouldnt they just put it into a new sword instead of dealing with the Enflamer or having Bengali/Char fix it?

Personally I like the Eye of Thundera and the Sword of Omens being one with each other. Putting the eye into another object just wouldn’t work for me.
This is true… however I think this is more of a “what if” scenario. What if it had an upgrade (mayhaps that Bengali kid gives an upgrade to the other weapons and makes them philosopher stone compatible) and was able to be shared with anyone else in the chain? The prerequisite you must accept in this scenario is that the rock isn’t doing ALL the work and just requires a magic setting. Said magic setting (sword) must have basic functions on it’s own.
Prime the pump there, Everliving. What do you think another weapon would do?

The 2011 series illustrates the subject of this thread perfectly: when the War Stone was placed in the hilt of a sword, it became the Sword of Omens; when the Tech Stone was placed in the claw shield, it formed the Armor of Omens, etc.

A bit like how you can upgrade and enchant and add rune stones to weapons in role play games.

If I might go out on a limb, I wouldn’t start with the weapon. I’d start with the person holding it. Far and away the most used thing on that sword by Lion-o is the eyes. It is consistently telling him the correct answers to things… Now this makes him seem like he’s dumb as a rock. That’s not fair. He’s an “Occam’s razor” character. Simplest solution is often the best. Like the other notably Occam’s razor character, he is inherently honest, and has to be reminded to be sneaky when it’s useful. He’s more honest than his more intellectually divers counterparts (lies are actually one of the other guy’s superpowers… I might come back to that). What if the sword was rewarding his innate ability to be truthful by telling him the truth? Mayhaps the others might be stronger in the other four virtues?
I’m gonna then start with the kids. I think that they should share it like they share everything. They are a more obvious representation of loyalty. I’d make a nod toward toxoplasmosis (the validity of it is up in the air, but it’s a neat reference) while they collectively are using the eye; those that otherwise would attack them would have a difficult time bringing themselves to dislike them… This would have to be done carefully. I don’t care for straight up usurpation of free will. More like if they are hated for a stupid reason that reason is called into question.

I always wondered in the 2011 series how someone like Tygra, who was clearly a better swordsman and warrior than Lion-O, would have been able to use the Sword of Omens.

I always took it as the sword responds more to someone’s spirit/mind than any technical abilities they might have. If it really was however affected by skill imagine what the Duelist would have done with it.

Tygra and Lion-o are weirdly… same-y. In both series.
In the NS if Tygra got the sword I don’t feel it would do much different for him than for Lion-o, except Tygra isn’t a a sociopath. (not gonna spend much time on this one since that’s a 2011 discussion).
In the OS, I always got the impression (only an impression, mind) that Tygra was trying to be something he wasn’t suited for… He seems hard coded to be a “Creator” but is forced in positions where he has to Fight (destroy).
I mentioned that “his superpower is lying”. He comes from a culture that prizes Honor, loyalty, justice and TRUTH above all else and his power is deception. I think I might have pin pointed the origin of his anxiety. When a person’s very being seems diametrically apposed to the morality of the culture, it’s unnerving. Now he might think he is apposed, but I say nay nay. Just like Lion-o, his strongest virtue ought to be truth (I think two separate sides to a virtue is a good idea). A story, a metaphor, art, is a lie used to tell the truth. Perhaps the Eye amplifies his mental abilities also giving him guidance. The sword shows Lion-o truth, and The whip uses Tygra to show the world truth, style of thing.

You can’t expect very member of a culture not to be shy just because the culture’s values whatever it values. Tha fact of him being shy and being able to turn invisible is a personality trait in the first case, adn a natural gift in the second one. The Code was a cultural thing that has to respect idiosyncasities.
Same thing with being a creator. Maybe in Thundera, where there were lots of Thunderian guards and soldiers, he could have been more a creator, but now he was needed to fight, I guess.
Cheetara could have been seen as an athlete, valuing fair game and all that, but she sometimes had to “cheat” in roder to win a battle. Is she contradicting the Code as well?

This actually reminds me of Transformers Armada where various members of the Autobots and Decepticons teams used the Skyboom Shield, Star Sabre and Requim Blaster.
Megatron etc used them to gain power and utter destruction. Unlike the Autobots wo used them to stop the Decepticons.

Actually it was the Spirit Stone that was placed in the Claw Shield, the Tech Stone was only found at the end and taken by Mumm-Ra.
