They’ve said before that his green armor he wears in the show has a story behind it. So I assume they changed Tygra’s look for the sake of that story.
Freaking awesome! I think I actually like his outfit he’s wearing now the best, honestly. I liked the one he wore in the pilot too.

I think the series creator like to have new outfits for the cats and seeing that picture is very close to the os. They have him wearing the green armor.
Pretty much that. 
I hated Tygra’s costume in the OS…He looks a lot better in Green…
I can’t say is better in the modern representation! but i like the stealth look his armor has.
Well the OS Tygra costume..looked like he was going to the circus…His new costume is much butter in the sense of practicality. They did pay homage to his old costume with his formal wear…Still though the green was an excellent choice for Tygra.
Fashion in the 80s for the cartoons was a bit peculiar. See Lion-o for instance, strange combination of cloths, still the whole outfit was very impressive and long lasting.The general trend then, was the muscular and very athletic bodies. The character design had a lot of nudity in order to show off the well-build body.
Tygra had a regal touch on his clothing and wasn’t so brawny ad sinewy like Pantrho and Lion-O. He had a plain yet stylish look.personally, i liked it
I agree, at least tygras OS costume broke the usual 80s hero mode of underpants and a stylised vest top or armour over bare skin! Lol
And speedos, don’t forget the 80’s had speedos.
All they were missing was a little Y on them! Ha!

I wore the pink leapord print bike shorts in the 80s..it was a terrible terrible time for fashion…and character design LOL
Yeah, I liked Tygra’s OS outfit as well. It was different. I think it had to be long-sleeved because producers got tired of drawing his stripes all the time.
Never thought of that. That’s clever.
Very clever.
not so much clever, but to cut on animation costs. The detailing on his stripes would’ve been tedious work, back then, considering computer animation wasn’t nearly as common as it is today.
