Okay, so this is a rant topic - I’d like some others to chime in and hear what they have to say.
First of all - I’m a huge fan of the original series, and liking the new series a lot. Some episodes I wasn’t too sure of but now as I look at it all as a whole, the few episodes that I wasn’t maybe too sure of actually fit in quite nicely with what I would think the goal of this show has to be - appease old fans with a good homage and great storyline, but also attract new younger fans with something fresh.
My beef here is the absolute FLOP the entire execution of this new series has been!! I live in Canada. I have most of the toys. Have I EVER seen ONE new Thundercats toy on a toy store shelf here? NOPE! NOT ONE! It’s disgraceful! I’ve had to order everything I have through bigbadtoystore because I can’t go to my local toy store to buy toys to support this series.
Secondly! I have to actually torrent all these episodes because we can’t get access to Cartoon Network, and Teletoon (which is the only one I’m aware that does carry it) is a premier network which is bundled with too many other shows that make it not worth it to me. I’m glad I have access to Thundercats in some form, but seriously - I feel terrible that I can’t even contribute to the ratings because of the way I have to watch it! It’s not accessible!
So the show is apparently on the verge of being cancelled - which I think is an absolute shame because the story is just starting to unravel. If we had actually had a regular schedule without these ridiculous hiatuses - (we had what - 3 or 4 over the one season?) I think there would have been less criticism over the lighter/“filler” episodes which may not have contributed directly to the arc. Obviously the writers thought long and hard about the flow of the show, but when the show airs 5 or 6 episodes in a clump and then suddenly stops, it’s very difficult to continue that nice flow and momentum. The way we’ve watched this series isn’t the way the writers had intended it to be watched!
If we base the cancellation on lack of toy sales - then WHY is there not more effort to sell them? Am I the only one that sees this as a terrible excuse for bad execution? Don’t blame the franchise for your inability to get the toys in the hands of the kids! Put them on the shelves! This is a quality story with quality toys! They will sell themselves!
The cartoon sells toys, and the toys create more viewers. There’s a win-win on both sides, it just depends on whether you happen to be in front of a tv or in the toy aisle the first time you see the new Thundercats.
If you’re not selling toys, and the show has an erratic schedule and kids can’t just anticipate that every Saturday morning their favorite show is on - are you SERIOUSLY blaming Thundercats for being the root of the problem?
I want to thank everyone involved in making the new Thundercats such a success in the sense that you have truly brought life back into an old cult cartoon. Me and my son both love the shows, and I think it’s pretty special that we can both say “When I was five my favorite cartoon was the Thundercats!”
Please respect the cartoon - give it more life. Put toys on the shelves. I don’t think we need MORE toys, just get them out there! Let kids see them! I want my kid to have a battered up Lion-O like I once had!
but I still love it alot more than the original series . to me it’s a grea spinoff , it deals with intereting themes , it’s a bit less goofy (this is the problem I had with teen titans as well - so you see how our tastes differ in this point) the characters are very likeable , the main villan is awesome . and overall it has such great ideas and value . even if I hate arena sports , and I thought the love triangle at THAT show was executed way worse than the one we had on T-cats . especially after the latest episode 
then again , it delivered alot more high quality action scenes , than the current season did …
